Smoke from the Tdi75 front

A couple of occasions when parked up after a drive I've noticed smoke coming from the front bumper. I suspect it might be an oil leak dripping on to something hot or it might be something else...

Anybody have any ideas and suggestions? Is this something I need to be worried about?

near side or off side? if off side it could be the websto heater kicking in

@johnyfartbox is right, front right is webasto exhaust, combined with a whirring noise.

Thanks, I didn't know about the webasto diesel burning heater. I'll check which side next time I notice the smoke.

If your A2 is a 2001 or earlier it may have a Webasto. But the later cars use an internal electric preheater.

If you open the bonnet you will find it on the left and it is pretty obvious, final confirmation would be the exhaust pipe that goes from it to a hole in the under tray.
