Chat Soon to be new A2 owner

Hi all new to this just wanted to say Hi and what an amazing site of information, tips and help!!

As a A3 2.0 TDI SE owner (99,000) I have finally managed to get my wife onboard with an Iconic A2 (Current Freelander :-()

Put a deposit down on a 2001 1.4TDI Silver 1owner FSH 114,00 via a non Audi dealer. Due to our location Highlands and other factors we have a whole week to wait to view and test drive- seems forever!!
All the A2's seem to be miles away :-(
Any TOP TIPS on what to look for on the Test drive? Any help advice appreciated.

Hopefully all will be good?

Great site and Thanks.

A warm welcome to the A2 forum. And good to see another Highlander. We have a couple of members from Inverness area but I think you'll be the first from An Gearasdan area :)

Theres a hints and tips sticky in the general forum; however I'll get your email address from your profile and forward you a document that pretty much covers everything you need to check when looking at an A2. Some of it is specific to the car; some general used car buying checks - so you can use or discard the information as required.

Best of luck - and don't rush in to a purchase if you arent sure - A2 TDi's in nice well looked after condition are becoming a comparitive rarity on the forecourts and classified pages - but theyre not that rare. So if this isnt the one for you another will come along. I'd assume of you have a deposit on the car all is well with the checks you can do remotely though?

Welcome to A2 ownership! I have just gone the other way, from A2 to Freelander2, albeit my wife now drives the Audi so it's still in the family. I will be in the Inverness area next week for a short break but unfortunately not with the A2.

Cheers

Freelander has been ok and served her well. She does little mileage now so £30 Tax and cheap Insurance, plus a great looking car are the way forward! Hope the sun shines in Inverness

:)

I will be up near Inverness early June. Lovely part of the world.
