South London Cruise Fitting Session - Sun 10 August

Following on from the discussion on this thread: http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7920 I thought it would be a good idea to start afresh in organising the southern England cruise fitting session by Mike / Skipton01. He is strongly recommended by others who have used his services and will charge £160 to drive down & fit each cruise control with original Audi parts. I am willing to host the cruise fitting session at my house in Purley which is near the junction of the A23 and A22.

We have chosen Sunday 10th of August as the best day and there are about four remaining time slots available. If you are interested I would be grateful if you could post here and also e-mail Mike at audiA2(at)gothic(dot)plus(dot)com with your car details. He will then advise how to put a deposit down for the Audi parts. As well as getting a properly fitted cruise control this is also an opportunity to have a look at Mike's A2.

I am away until the 25th but will respond to any queries the following weekend. Cheers!

installed...

Just in case you missed my other post, Mike did a brilliant job installing cruise control in my car. All worked perfectly on my way back to London from Duxford. And how nice it was to give the foot a rest.

Mike is, of course, very professional and most kind as well.

Thanks again Mike.

HI MPG Lover

I've spoken to Mike already about the 10th, not sure who is in charge of the booking sheet, but can I have a morning slot please?

Cheers

Neil

If possible I'd prefer an early slot although I can make any time if necessary.

I won't be near a PC again until the 4th August so I'd just like to confirm that I do want to go ahead with this. If the numbers / date are finalised and Mike wants a deposit I'll sort it out on the 4th.

Thanks

Richard

OK, so MPG Lover is in, Richie is in and Badlyread is in.

To make is worth the journey, I need clubsport (and preferably his friend he initially mentioned) and dan_b to get on board. That would make 6 adn I can then start to take deposits and organise time slots.

So, CLUBSPORT and DAN_B - please get in touch.

Cheers,

Mike

UPDATE:

Heidi is now in too, so that's 4 who I'll need a deposit from next week. If anyone can raise interest from clubsport and dan_b, that would make a full days compliment.

Cheers,

Mike

PS I'll send my bank details next week for deposits and PM all those concerned.

UPDATE:

dan_b has been in touch regarding the date - his wife is expecting mid-August, so he can't commit to being there, but will make it along on the day if possible.

Just the elusive clubsport and his friend to go now, but of course anyone else if free to join in.

Cheers,

Mike

Fitted with Cruise

Had Skipton do his 'cruise thing' this morning and the journey home was very comfortable indeed. Many thanks to the incredible knowledgeable Mike for a fantastic job and to MGPLover/Christian for hosting the event.

I hope the rest of you had pleasant journey home.

Please PM those part numbers to me Mike.

Thanks again

Neil:D

Yep, good fun this morning, cruise control is quite a different way of driving, like it so far! Really good to put some faces to names and chat about the various things we're all doing. Only problem is, now I really want to mod my car heavily - leather seats, 17" wheels, BOSE, all the internal nick-nacks like storage bins, and Xenons would be cool too, ha!

Thanks to Christian for hosting, and to Mike for travelling all the way down.

A few pictures from today - I think my steering wheel is a bit off-centre now after all that, ha ha! Would love a nicer wheel actually, the SE one is a bit cack. A nice sport 3-spoker would be good, or one of those lovely flat-bottomed TT ones like Skipton has

Thanks to everyone that came today and an extra special thanks to Mike for travelling down and back all that way.
A shame some events conspired against me but enjoyed it all the same.

The newly fitted cruise control might actually improve my MPGs by taking away my heavy right foot and using engine braking (fuel cut) on the down hill bits. :)

Thanks go to all the attendees today - especially to MPG Lover for being the genial host and making sure that everyones toilet and drinks needs were taken care of (and under very adverse conditions too)!

It's always great to see new faces and so todays turn out was brilliant in that respect - hope you can make it to some future socials guys (and gal!).

The journey back 'oop North was a nightmare - I thought I'd missed out all the hold-ups by taking a back road around Hooley, but after only about 10 miles, the M25 turned into a car park, after a couple of multiple vehicle accidents brought things grinding to a halt!!

It was only after Luton that things freed up a little, so the expected 3.5 hour journey ended up as a 5 hour one!!

Not to worry eh!

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks again Mike. The leaking pipe was fixed this morning. Just need to find the mouse that's eating the inside of my bonnet now....

Thank you to both Skipton and MPG Lover for sorting out the cruise fitting. Your timing was perfect, after 2k miles in 2 weeks I thought cruise might be a good option to have and as ever the A2OC provided the service!

Skipton - Thank you for a very good job and for the extra job you sorted out.

MPG Lover - Thank you for being a very good host, I could offer you one of my 3 cats to sort out your mouse but they are not very fast at catching them but they would sleep in comfort in your A2!

Thanks again
