Spare tire location??

I recently bought a used A2. It is in excellent shape, first owner took good care of it. 60,000 kms and runs great, no squeaks, rattles, etc. My question is where is the spare? I looked in the manual and it lists two possibilities. One is a can of tire sealant with a compressor and the other is a folding spare with compressor. The folding spare has an asterisk beside it which seems to mean optional equip. Are spare tires optional on these??
In the trunk/boot on the left is the battery and bottle of tire sealant, on the right is the jack and tools. There is an empty rectangular hole which could hold a compressor. Under the front passenger floor is an empty compartment with screw fittings that could hold down something. I'm not sure a tire could fit inside though.[13]
Am I not looking in the right place? I called the previous owner, but only got ahold of his wife and she didn't know. ???!!!

The tyre/sealant is an choice if you want mor space you choose the Sealant, if you want the asurance of knowing that you can get home then you choose the Tyre, either way the compressor should be there, the space under the passenger floor is for the tool kit if you have the BOSE system (SPEAKER THINGY).

Some members have gone back to the tyre as the sealant is not as good as they would have liked??

Spare tyre is an option in UK - it is collapsible and would be found under the space floor above the battery.

There are some archived topics about the spare wheel / sealant.

I believe that if you REALLY played your face you might be able to get one FOC. I certainly did quite soon after purchase and they promised me one if I ever wanted one. I did have to complain all the way up to Audi UK HQ though. So far, I've resisted.
