My GF has an 1.4TDI as her company car, she’s only had it for a month or so, and despite my nagging doesn't keep the owners manual in the car, its to big and bulky according to her! Anyway disaster struck yesterday when she was leaving my house she had to swerve to avoid a couple of cretins walking 2 abreast in the road (it’s a very narrow lane down here in Cornwall) Anyway she clipped a stone and punctured the tire wall of her front left tire. Now without the owners manual trying to change the tire was fun! First where the bloody hell is the spare!!!?, she didn’t know, this is where the owners manual would have come in handy! Anyway after routing around I came to the conclusion that there isn’t a spare just a can of tire filler and a compressor, again without the manual we gave up and called the RAC, lucky it’s a company car so it’s not really her problem. After waiting nearly an hour for the RAC to turn up, the chap said there isn’t a spare and as the tire wall had been punctured (pretty bad as it happens) the filler would be no good so the car would have to be towed to her home some 15 miles away along very narrow lanes, oh the fun! Anyway after nearly two hours the tow truck arrived and the car was lifter onto the truck and taken away. All in all this took from 17:30 to she finally got home at 22:00 and all because of no spare bloody wheel!!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrr! Lucky this happened a few meters fom my home and not in the middle of no where! But it was still a pain, the tow truck had to reverse down a lane just wide enough for it for nearly 2 miles!
