hi all,
was thinking of replacing the standard leather SE gearknob as the chrome ring is worn showing the white plastic but have thought of a much cheaper fix that i thought i would share with you all.
i was thinking of taking out the top part as in this pic from this site, rubbing down the chrome part with fine wet & dry and spraying with silver/chrome paint and a couple of coats of clear laquer before popping back in the shift emblem and gluing/clipping back into the gearknob? what do you think?
It should match the other parts as the door handles ect are matt silver in my SE
should be a quick job if the chrome part pops out easily? has anyone attempted to remove this part and if so, how?
