Stearing rack broken and stuck

hello,

so was having issues with rack leaking fluid before few tens of thousand kilometers, then power steering pump died replaced it with used one.
this winter on cold weather -20 and more got it situation that a2 while driving straight car turns left with the force that it requires muscles to keep it going straight then it stuck on turn to any side and you have to restart engine to be able to turn
somehow returned to safe place to check what the heck is going on, and realized that car only turns to right, it does not turns to left
you can turn steering wheel to right it stops on full steer and it's possible to return straight with 4-5 full turns with big force with crack sounds, and there is no finish in turning left did like 10 turns of steering wheel and stopped not to brake wires under wheel.

just to know that car is made on 2000 and has almost 400 000 kilometers on clock

got the car in garage in jacks and taken off steering rack for inspection and what i found that it's too loose
did some pictures

I have owned cars where the steering went very stiff and "notchy" like your car, the problem was failure of the universal joint connecting the steering column to the rack.

ok, so got the spring of a4 that is same as mine

now working with vag-com to fix all errors
first one is G85
00778 - Steering Angle Sensor (G85): No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation
Possible Causes
  • Steering Angle Sensor (G85) Basic Setting lost
Possible Solutions

  • Perform Steering Angle Sensor (G85) Basic Setting

seems that forgot to connect the wires from steering wheel airbag to spring. will have to check that

Good luck setting the Steering Angle Sensor, brings back expensive memories, Paid £380 at Audi main dealer to set.

ok so the fixing is done.

had to find vag-com to be full version working to Perform Steering Angle Sensor (G85) Basic Setting

that's done cluster has no lights on

Hello, I got leaking steering rack with steering rack mounted. First I accidentaly got rack without steering angle sensor. After that I got rack with sensor mount but find out when I was putting sensor back in, that it is two disc rotor. My question is: is it possible to fit sensor with two rotors ”bolt on” to my A2 ?
