Steering goes "boing"

Applied the WD40 .... success! I obseved the springs and they look fine (they were replaced only a Year or so ago, anyway) So all's well! :)

Don't forget that WD40 is temporary solution until you change the bearing.

I would highly recommend Monroes. They were a standard fit on A2,s from new.
Were they? Both ours had Sachs originals, now changed to Bilstein/KYB on one car and all Sachs on the other. Sachs are cheapish from ECP.

A point to note is that the polo top mounts are a better bet if replacing them, they are tougher and should last longer. We purchased them from Crewe Audi:

6Q0 412 331 B – strut top mount £37.20 each
6N0 412 249 C – strut top bearing £16.80 each

Also worth replacing the below if they are knackered:

8Z0 412 301 D – bump stop £13.20 each
6N0 413 175 A – Bellows £10.80 each

(All Audi Crewe prices)
