Steering wheel connections

Hi,

I was trying to refit the original se steering wheel and remove the tt sport one. (Battery disconnected)
I discovered that the horn? Twin black loom was cut to fit the tt using spade connectors.
I have the original white twin wire connector on the se wheel, but don't know which wires got to which pin on the connector, I guess if it get it wrong the horn says on? Or goes peeb not beep? 😉

Anyone shed any advice as would like to swap to restore the tt leather and sell on.

I see what you did there, toot toot.
Mac.

Once again timmus has the answer. In reality never buy a steering wheel / airbag that does not come with the correct loom.
Yes it came with the car I wouldn’t have wanted to chop the wires myself. Will remove it later, engine woes first though.

Out of interest (and safety first) if you don't disconnect the battery, like what I didn't when fitting my TT steering wheel, will it throw up any other electrical faults?
It fitted straight in, with the same connector, but now my airbag light is on (possibly I don't have the plug pushed fully in).
But also the "drivers door open" warning came up on the dash (it wasn't open) and both front and back interior lights came on.

Yes, if the airbag is disconnected while the battery is still connected it will throw an airbag light. Whilst it's highly unlikely that the airbag would go off in that situation, it is possible and makes a hell of a mess if you are positioned in the wrong place when it goes off.

The other issues are non-related.

I think there would be a hell of a mess in my pants, no matter where I was positioned!!!!

Thanks as ever Steve.
Can I clear it with VCDS?
