Stereo cutting out.

We had a bit of a funny this morning with the stereo (Symphony II) cutting out for a second & then coming back to life. The display and sound were both going & hten coming back. This was happening every 30-60 seconds on both radio and CD.

We picked the car up lastnight after it had been sat in a carpark for a week and everything was fine on the journey home. It was also fine when we made our first journey this morning. But on the next trip - only 5 minutes later - the problem appeared for the first time until we got fed up & turned the stereo off. Next trip all fine.

My thoughts are possibly a low battery as the wife had a habit of trying to air condition the world - which she was doing this morning. Could the compressor cutting in cause a power dip to shut down the stereo for a small amount of time?

It's certainly a possibility Rob, but I'd suspect a loose connection at the back of the radio to be honest.

If you have the removal keys, whip it out and just remove and re-plug all the connectors to rule this out (make sure you have the radio code).

Cheers,

Mike

I have had the same problem with my Symphony 2, next time I started the car all fine, it has happened twice in 3 years, the unit has been out several times for dfferent unrelated reasons, (bluetooth phone connection, MP3 cabling and GPS antenna installation)
