Still strange "Bonck"-noises at front?

Hi.
My A2 is now silent .
Last year new coil-spring-bearing was fitted. Spring are not broken. I still heard a "bonck" now & then.
Spring-time & Carpolish-time: when I wiped out the wax at the bonnets upper corners :there it was !! the BONCK sound.
The male "spears" in composite at the bonnets inner rear that holds it onto car, fits into 2 square composite female-parts near watertray. These composite-parts were not in good shape anymore and therefor caused that the bonnet could move a little at the rear.Bought 2 new ones just to click i plase. For 5? the bonnet now fits firm like hand in a glove: No "bonck-sound".

Just a tip.

Hi

I get a strange 'clunking' sound at the front of my A2, when going over bumps and uneven roads, I assumed it would be the springs - suspension? do you think it could be what you've suggested? i must say i don't fully understand what you've changed...

Thanks

Jossi appears to have changed the mounting lugs that the rear of the bonnet locates into.

The clunk you describe could be anyone of the following most common faults:-

Knackered Spring bearing.
Broken Spring
Worn Drop links.
Worn Anti-roll bar bushes

Or something else again.

I agree with herusix's list but suggest the most likely cause is either worn anti-rollbar drop links (Parts about £35 pair and easy to fix) or anti-rollbar bushes(generally a Dealer job)

Cheers Spike

I had the same problem as Jossi. When you fit the bonnet there are 2 guide rails at the back which fit into 2 plastic 'cup' fittings near the windscreen. These in turn are only held in by plastic to the car. My drivers side one rattled over 50mph and sounded like it was coming from the dash :)
