Strange issue, that there is no issue

Hi all, yesterday the EML came on, showing "16786 Egr system, excessive flow". Car drove normal. I deleted the code but came back right away.
I partly took the egr off to clean it, but it got late and I just put it back on to deal with it next day. I needed the car in the morning, so went to do adaptation quickly.
By I mistake I went to throttle body adaptation, which ran at first but then gave "error". Not great.
Then I went to egr adaptation, which gave "error" as well. Tried both a good few times, but to no avil.
Then I started the car to see what EML codes it got, but there was none. Not even EGR flow issue. Drove the car to work and back, it drives fine, no warning lights, no jutter.
Any idea why is there no issues now?
I was about to buy a new egr as well as cleaning was only done 3 years ago, but not sure I still need that now.
Cheers

The words "spurious error" springs to mind.
If a scan reveals a code, and the alleged fault is not supported by an actual physical symptom, there is a fair chance that a sensor has failed or is intermittent. Especially if the code magically disappears. This is why the EML is yellow not red.
I would suggest you don't worry about it.

I have never seen a red EML, is that even a thing?
Clean throttle body and egr and see how you go would be my route

The EML doesn't signify something catastrophic. That's why it's only ever yellow.
The catastrophic stuff (brakes, brake fluid, oil level, oil pressure and water temp) have their own warning icons, and are red to signify they are not to be ignored. Yellow warning lights are cautionary (including EML), suggesting something may be amiss and that some investigation should be done at the earliest opportunity.
I would caviat all the above by pointing out that which should be obvious, if the car is displaying symptoms that clearly indicate some mechanical malady is occuring, the driver really should stop the vehicle rather than press on regardless of whether a warning is yellow or red. :)

Cleaning the TB and EGR isn't going to hurt. What I'm suggesting is that if the fault code has gone, and there are no symptoms, there is (in all likelyhood) nothing wrong. The main problem with owning such old cars isn't just the mechanicals. It's the electronic systems, particularly wiring connections and sensors. In other words, the cars monitoring system starts to get paranoid. Never a dull moment with a modern classic. :)

What mostly concerns me, apart from the fault code disappearing, is both EGR and Throttle Body adaptations have failed, yet both seemed to work fine after driving today. Soon I gotta drive a lot, don't fancy these popping up then :/
Cheers

I know how you feel. It reminds me of when I used to ride 2 stroke motorcycles in the 80's. You were always listening for funny noises and your hand was always hovering over the clutch lever expecting an engine seizure at any moment! Not a relaxing experience!
Safe journey.

Thank you!

Different apples but i once had an Airbag fault appear on my galaxy for no reason other than possible low battery voltage but its had low battery voltage 100 times or more but only ever thrown a airbag mil once in the 6 years i have had it. This is where having your own ability to clear codes is far better than taking it to a garage as a good garage will always look to find the cause but in the very occasional instances nothing is actually wrong
