Some of you wanted to see these couple of pictures which I promised to find and post. It shows you the strength of the space frame after running of a bridge!

Hi Sarge

I am glad you have passed this way and not the route that A2 had taken, where was this location ? is it still there or has it floated out to it's final resting place to be found for spares in the next Millennium RUST free, hope the occupants opened the doors and survived.

I don't remember the details, came across the pictures few years ago and they went into my archive.

if I remember correctly, it's in France somewhere.

There's also the story of one 1,2 which caught its front wheels in the verge at around 120km/h, somersaulted and rolled and the driver got out. The fire brigade were asking "where's the driver?" as they could not believe the person would be unscathed.... they're tough little cars.

I also recall seeing one when an A2 went off an overbridge and ended up in the underpass, probably about 10m (30ft) down. Also showed great resilience. Just how the occupants fair given the g-forces on deceleration on landing is another matter.

In this accident http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/vehicle-crash-closes-section-A1198/story-22366675-detail/story.html
it seems it was the A2 that lost a wheel and caused a 3 vehicle crash. All survived. A2 is battered but again the space frame stayed intact.
