Stuttering

Hi

I am a newbee.

Our 145K TDI SE has developed an intermittent stutter over 3000 revs.

We use good quality fuel and have tried an "Italian" tuneup.

Its almost as if it needs new plugs! Could it be the turbo? Could ours just be dirty and need a clean?

Anyone had this problem and was it costly to put right?

Thanks for the reply.

We had the car electronically diagnosed, nothing came up. It was suggested to have the turbo cleaned at £350.00 and if that did not work then replaced at £1,000.

The stutter did go away for a few days, but is now back.

Anyone suggest a garage in Notts or Lincs?

Faulty pipes sound cheaper than a new turbo!! how much might that cost?

Hiya,

Also had this issue but on a 1.6 FSI 64k - car is fine once up to speed and above 3000 rpm but below this and when pulling in 2nd gear it seems to stutter - just had it serviced and they could find no issue and also had the cambelt etc done about 500 miles ago.

Have put a few tanks of super through it and although it seems better the stuttering is not completely cured.

Guess a full diagnostic may highlight an issue? Fuel filter, throttle body - maybe?

Any ideas gratefully received!
