**Sudden stop - please help!**

Thankfully she's in good hands now, are the previous garage replacing the wheel caps stolen while 'secure'? Best of luck with the repairs (to both).

They just shrugged their shoulders when I mentioned it. Case of 'leave it with us and takes your chances'. That's one customer they have now lost.

Call Worcester Bosch direct. I think they repair your boiler for £270 unless it is beyond economic repair.

What went wrong? Is it a mechanical failure, fan motor etc, or is there nothing obvious and showing a fault code?

It was showing the EA code and the flame was intermittently going out. My wife pressed the reset button and switched the boiler off for a while before switching it back on. This worked a couple of times before the boiler refused to switch on at all.

I have contacted WB (and I think they charge £360 as a one-off call-out fee) but a Bank Holiday is the worst time for them to come out!

I think EA means there is no flame and as you know there is no flame. Hopefully an easy one.
I was quoted £270 before Christmas. I think it all depends on if your boiler is in or out of warranty. Worth checking. Also check how much they charge if the boiler is beyond economic repair.

I had an oil fired boiler, which was 15 months out of warranty, attended to under this scheme just before Christmas for £270.

Had a quick look ar boiler fault EA on YouTube and its seems a condensate problem. I suggest you empty the condensate trap, easy bit of servicing, only takes a few minutes and save yourself hundreds of pounds. Can't be more specific without model number but lots of videos on YouTube.

Arrived home to find it's now a C6 code showing up. Something to do with fan speed, so Google tells me. Time to call in WB. Can't complain with one serious fault in 10 years of constant use.

take the fan and motor off, spray wd40 in bearings etc give it a good clean and spin by hand
ive just done mine as the boiler stopped working
hey presto fully working again Free

PS is the A2 fixed yet ?

I'm not sure using WD40 alone is a good option, as it's a degreaser.

I'd clean the old lubricant from the bearings as suggested but re-lubricate with something suitable.
However, if you are skilled enough to remove the fan, then purchsing a new replacement and fitting it will save you a substantial amount.

Cheers

yeh WD40 was to clean out all the crap i used a lubricant afterwards (sorry)
taking the cover off and taking off a small fan (electrical not gas powered) was a doddle for me anyway
i never touch gas stuff thats daft
and back to the thread please !
is she fixed ? the A2 i mean
