Hei,

(sheesh, this language is impossible, but i am sure you will understand!)

Moi Bret, miitti kiinnostaa. Olen itse Lahdessa mutta ajaminen pohjoisemmaksi ei ole mikään ongelma, esimerkiksi Jyväskylä sopisi hyvin.

Your Finnish is understandable, that's enough 👍 Also English is fine if you're more comfortable getting yourself understood.

summer is coming and then the possibilities are of course :) I'm from Kuopio now; were you interested in anyone? For example, a little further south (as near Jyväskylä)? I think I have a little time this summer. I hope so

That translation is really bad. Miitti is slang and so it doesn't get translated. And the word order is actually correct in the finnish, though the english (I'm guessing google translate?) is .. yeah. Anyway.
Summer is coming and with it the possibilities for a meetup; I now live in Kuopio, is anyone up for a social? Maybe a little further south, for example Jyväskylä area? I believe I will have some time this summer, I certainly hope so!

se on ihan mahdotonta, se kieli. Saksaks oli niin helpompi opetellään... eniweis, on Keskiviikona uudestaan Karisman EH:lla kahvin hakemaan ennen matka 5-tien kautta kotiin. En tiedä kellonajan.

I really need to learn to write decent finnish. My spoken is fine, writing is really hard. @RantA2 Where are you in Lahti, anyways? We used to live over in Patomäki.

Could also invite some others with us, there's an FB group I'm part of that would probably like the opportunity. Just need to work out a decent base and hope the weather works :) I like the idea of Sysmä and the roads up to Jämsä /or/ around Laukaa. But that starts getting far for the Helsinkiläiset. Need to think, but if someone's got ideas, I'd like to hear them. ABC Vaajakoski is an obvious meeting point but I'd rather give our business to someone who wants it...

. Bret

Meeting with other A2 owners would be nice. I'm actually currently working in Kouvola from Monday to Friday but I'm in Lahti on weekends. Meeting would work best for me on weekends but if the meeting place is far away from Lahti the best date would be in June or July when I can arrange holiday from work.

That sounds like a great idea. Lahti has a motorcycle museum with a nice oldschool diner attached, and in Kangasala next to Tampere you have some nice car museums. Maybe something like that would be more fun than an ABC. :)

Terveisiä Oulusta!

I am still struggling with the language for 8 years now, but meeting with other crazy A2 owners would be a great idea! I am here beyond the end of the world but I am open for any locations. As I just changed my working place recently weekends would be better. Sorry to hear that your have free time this summer, @bretti_kivi

Maybe we can have a winter Lapland meeting too! ;)

okay, so the idea I was following is that we have a meeting point or two and some nice roads to drive in between :) I'm also more than happy to come on down to Tampere (I have a friend or two there anyway); the other group is also seriously considering some time at Ahvenisto, which will be difficult to do but should be really cool.

The weekend after Juhannus might work for me, so 2/3 July. I will talk about the Ahvenisto thing and get that ball rolling and see if I can come up with some dates.
For winter, I would like to try one more time to get Track to work. In the mean time, we have a track between Vesanto and Vittasaari and a pleasantly crazy Trackmeister. But our previous hotel base changed owners at the beginning of this year, so I need to talk to some people and see what kind of deals we will get. Really want to exercise the Superb on the icetrack.

Do you know any more about the start of July?

ha, no, I am still working on short contracts. However... let's pin something down. 2nd or 3rd July would work for me. 2nd is probably better.
Locations... Leivonmäki might work but have never been there; Isojärvi is really good. Or Pulkkilänharju (there are some great driving roads over towards Kalkkinen).
Thoughts?

That weekend works for me too and all the locations are quite near me which is good. I have been driving in Pulkkilanharju several times and I can fully recommend it but the others aren't that familiar with me so they could also be nice to see.

Isojärvi is great because there's some gravel but it's generally pretty well looked after and there's a short walk from the car park to the laavu. Shouldn't be too many itikät, either. You also get the opportunity to do some more walking if you wish; there are a couple of loops possible. Heretty is the parking place: https://julkaisut.metsa.fi/assets/pdf/lp/Esitteet/isojarvifin.pdf and https://www.google.de/maps/place/Is...80f8fae7a6403b72!8m2!3d61.690591!4d25.0021541 is the map in and out.

Leivonmäki is a bit far for me, but the others look great, thanks Bretti. If others are up for a hike too, Isojärvi seems like the best option. :)

okei... mä on nyt vapaaehtoinen karanteenissä ja vaimo on myös flunssa. tämä viikkonloppu siis ei mahduu enää mulle.

(i tested positive Wednesday last week, i am mostly fit again but need to be isolated for another 3 days or so... and my wife has a cold (testing negative). Can't make this weekend.

Joo, I also got a bit busy now when my summer holiday is starting next week so I don't have time to attend before July 16th 😓

I think we need to make some concrete plans and lock the date so we can gather everyone interested and get the meet arranged.
