Hi there. We are new to all this. We are looking at getting an A2. Want the 90ps but have been looking at getting a 75ps and having it Superchipped. Their site claims it can put on 30bhp!! Has anyone heard if these chips are any good/better than others e.g Impossible Performance?
Thanks!!

can you tell me the site please.

IQ

I'm not sure about which is the best chip because I've no personal knowledge of them - sorry.

I replaced the SE because I liked the look/handling of the Sport and got a very good deal to change over.

Where did you get your xenon lights from?

Regards

Shaf

What extra horsepower does Impossible Performance claim they can add to the standard? I'd like to compare this to the Superchip's version.
Thanks guys!!

I think there are some other people on here who have the impossible performance chip.
I think its around 30bhp, to 110bhp or somthing.

Also my xenons are not true xenons, i had the white bulbs before which i fitted from halfords and some other multi color when i went germany.
but since my car crash, the whole front got mashed and so now everything is standard.

Also for choice and comparison, try www.ccctech.co.uk who have done 2 chip upgrades for me on the A2 (75 and 90PS models)

2004 A2 TDI SE 90PS, Akoya Silver, Climate, Open Sky, Winter pack, Symphony II, DIS, ISOFIX, Star Alloys, Matrix Cloth, Storage Pack

With regard to Simmos post, yes, try CCCTech. I've spoken to the chap involved, who seems a very nice and knowledgable bloke and on the strength of other testimonials, that's who'll be doing my 90PS Sport up when I get it in September. Up to 120bhp and 5% increased economy for £275 fitted = utter bargain![33]

skipton, that sounds good, i got a 1.4 tdi and am looking to get a chip installed quite soon but not sure which is best.
I have heard many good things about impossible performance and they do it for £275 too.
I heard they were the best. can anyone do a comparison please in performance increase etc?

Interesting!! I live in Rochester so I popped into Impossible Performance to ask a few questions on Monday. They booked my TDi in for the next Tuesday!! They didn't mention a wait of 2-3 weeks to me! They said the job will take around one and a half to two hours to do. The guy seems to know what he's doing!! I'll let you know how I get on and how the car seems afterwards.

well i meant booking the car in. I phoned last week and he said earliest was 26th august.
Yes please let me know since i am planning on going, also if you can post the performance gains and any figures would be nice.
Also is it £275 if you mention A2 club.
The person told me there is a lifetime warranty on the chip and it is programmed there and then. There is also free lifetime upgrades, should the chip change or better settings be found. I was told the warranty on the soldering is 2 yrs or something.

I can only point you towards this post, which I posted after mine was done. I am still very pleased and would say that both companies will give you a good service. A few quote bhp her or there is neither here no there as it is all good.

1.4Tdi,, got mine chipped today by Impossible Performance in Kent.. www.impossible-performance.cwc.net

I decided to have my car tested on a rolling road first and afterwards and not by the chipping company,, this allowed me a degree of honesty in the results.

Before chipping: 81BHP and 198Nm. With cruise control set to 2750rpm in 5th gear on the motorway on a level stretch of the motorway, DIS reads 46.7mpg.

After chipping, same technician, same rolling road: 112BHP and 258Nm. With cruise control set to 2750rpm in 5th gear on the motorway on a level stretch of the motorway, DIS reads 48.9mpg.

So how does it look,, well first off the chip is in one of the many compartments hidden under the passenger front seat.. The chip itself is no different than the one that comes out,, which you are allowed to keep. It would take a very sharp and extremely keen eyed Audi Technician to notice the difference visually,, and there is no reason for him to be looking there in the first place..

Previously my new Tdi would prefer to be in the 2000rpm – 4000rpm range for any action to take place. In slow moving traffic it preferred not to be left in 5th gear at revs below 2000rpm and if you did it was not comfortable. This meant for many gear changes which for a guy who has just come from an automatic V6, is a pain.

When it comes to action the standard Tdi comes alive at about 2500rpm and is not happy above 4000rpm.

WELL NOW,, things are different, very different. The car pulls from 1500rpm in any gear and it pulls strong from 2000rpm and by time you get to 2500rpm,, watch out this baby is coming through like a train about to discover sex for the first time.

There are no flat spots in the rev range and you have to watch how you pull off in 1st and 2nd gear as the sheer quantity of torque will have the steering wheel fighting in your hands.

OOOOOOOh can't wait now. Only 12 hours to chipping!!!!:)

ok geoff once done please let us know as i will be booking mine in very soon.

Once the chip is installed does the insurance company need to be notified of the change?
in the case of an accident then this will lose your cover on the car, am i right?

Also what sort of cost will it increase by?
