I took the wifes A2 to work this morning, and found that the radio/CD wasn't working. The display lights up, but there is no CODE, BOSE, radio/CD info or sound. The CD won't eject any disks either. It's quite plainly dead, although has power to it.

A touch worrying is that when I locked the car, the illumination for the radio was still on. Anyone had anything similar? Can the radio be reset by holding down a number of different buttons or is it back to the dealership? :(

Cheers,
Paul.

I would suggest pulling it out of the dash, pull out all the plugs in the back and then leave it sitting for a while, then plug everything back in.

Bye, Frido.

frido-wouldn't pulling the fuse do the same job (and be easier)?.

I never got round to looking for the A2's fuses so it may not be easy!.

@runboy: You are right, that WOULD be easier..:)
The fuses are located near the left knee of the driver on LHD models, so I presume they are near the driver´s right knee on RHD versions....

Bye, Frido.

Bingo! Pulled the fuse, whirring sound from the CD player, push fuse back in and all was working again. :D No need to code the radio either.

Now trying to locate the right fuse was a bit tricker, until I looked more carefully at the fuse layout and found that fuse #1 is in the bottom right hand corner of the fuse box. Those clever chaps at Audi, eh?

Thanks,
Paul.

So Paul, you weren't standing on your head whilst pulling the fuse-then it would have been in the logical place.

Tut tut, when will these Audi novices learn that all things Audi are weird!!!!:D:D

Doesn't surprise me at all. Although well built, they do have a couple of weird ideas at times...
