Tandem pump

Yes it was odd. The pump housing only fouled the hose spigot by about a mm but it was enough to skew the pump and prevent it sitting flush with the head. I thought about just bolting it up and hoping the bolts would pull it in square but decided it was better to get the thing sitting flush and then bolt it up I did notice that the bit I filed off was mainly casting flash. So perhaps it was something that is not always a problem

It could indeed be that your particular Bosch tandem pump came with a little extra casting flash
The tooling will be getting holder now so likely to more of a problem as Bosch make more tandem pumps out of this tooling. One thing for sure they will not be replacing the tooling or refurbishing it

Just wonder… the original LUK lives for ~20 years, is it worthwhile all the trouble to fit Bosch? Do you intend to run the car for 50 years?

It was simply a case of logistics. The Bosch pump was cheaper than the Luk, but more to the point here in Europe it is widely available. For a Luk pump it was a case of order it and we will let you know when it is available
