We would like to say thanks and "well done" to Stuart for arranging today's social.

I'm sure that everyone had a great time. Sadly we had to return home earlier than planned and left a little gap in the A2 display in the afternoon but we enjoyed the time that we did spend at the museum. It was nice meeting everyone.

So thanks again Stuart and we will be looking out for news of the factory trip and beer run. Might even get around to hoovering out the car for that one.

Cheers
Alex & Kim - Black Pig.

Thanks Stuart. Great to see other A2s and their drivers. Good food and company, Carting was great fun also, although I think Mike had done it before! Loved your 'S2' Erskine!

Here's to the German Beer run.

You're very welcome! Glad everyone had a good time; it's always nice to put names to faces and actually see what we talk about on a daily basis.

When I got home, I discovered that it does not pay to stand in the sun for 4 hours at the peak of the day...the back of my neck is currently red raw with sunburn!

I guess I spent a fair bit of time inside other people's cars so my neck is OK at the minute.... Just hope everyone's central locking is still working OK!

Yip, had a great time too... my favourite bit was driving up in convoy... But coming back the first three cars just sped off!!! So it devided the convoy a bit... and then everyone went their merry ways. Was good seeing people pass and stare though! And the go-carts were great!!!

Thanks for organising Stuart! See you and everyone else at the next social...

Thanks Stuart and everyone, a very pleasant day out. I'm looking forward to the next, especially if it's in Germany. Perhaps the A2OC slogan should be "you meet all the best people in an A2"

Johann, I was the 3rd car, the first two weren't exactly slow, but then of course I peeled off on my own to go M40 North (which was lonely all by myself) so that exacerbated the gap even further!

Cheers Ade,

I had a bit of a nightmare last night unfortunately, therefore couldn't make it today. Sorted out now though.

Looked like a great day. Weather was perfect!!! Glad you all had fun.

Cheers

OK. It's absolutely bucketing it down here now with thunder and lightning, so we were pretty lucky I think. The breeze freshened it up a bit during the day which helped take away the slightly unsavoury aroma inside the kart crash helmet.

Ade: I was talking about the 2nd convoy going south after you had left! :D (And looking at the amount of work that Stuart had done by the time I had my tea and had logged on, I knew why he tore off! Well done it looks great and will hopefully get more people coming to the next social!)

Stuart/Ade: I've just sent you both the panoramic pics I took... Hopefully we'll see them on here soon!

Thanks Stuart-as you say, it's nice to put faces to names. Venue was great, and I can recommend the 4X4 course to anyone wanting their dinner well mixed!!.

Hope I kept out of the way for the final convoy photos-I did my bit as a back marker with the hazards, but if they hit me it would have then been straight in the back of EFMAXs' lovely S2!!. What a car!.

Once again, well done Stuart. Great day out and nice to meet the people we talk to on a daily basis.

Sorry if we didn't get round to meeting everyone but all the lovely A2's just made us want to crawl into a corner and hide the Corsa (especially after people took the Mickey out of the size of the engine)

Fingers crossed, next time we'll have an A2 again.

Know what you mean Stuart, my shoulders are a bit redas well.

M25 was shut on the way home due to an accident. Oh what joy!!!

A very poorly A2 at present! :(

M25 shut! i made the right choice then to go through town! If M25 is OK we find it takes 60 minutes from J12 or so to the Dartford Crossing and through town also 60 minutes... but they are only equal if there are no accidents! I phoned 1740 and it said there were delays so I did town!

We went round the bottom half of the M25. It was shut between 6&5. We dived off at 7 (M23) and went London bound.

Lucky we had a map with us. I think Martyn was also going this way. Wish I'd had his phone number to warn him.

1740 is the RAC number from a mobile, press 1 for motorway and then the two digits of the relevant motorway, or press 2 for A roads and press the A road number... costs you a pound or so but well worth it to check traffic before you get the last-junction-of-no-return! That is what I did and the computer voice said: "6 miles of stationary traffic from J6 to J5 - Avoid"... so I avoided it!
