Hi All - great forum, really helpful.
I stumbled across you guys while searching for the answer to yet another engine management light issue. Now I've just spent over an hour reading all the various posts, but none seem to cover off our particular issue. So here goes - hoping you can help!
It's an A2 1.6 fsi, 03 plate. Low mileage (40,000), used mainly for local trips. The EML came on a while back, Audi cleaned the spark plugs and reset it. Then it came back on again not long after. They suggested taking the car for a long motorway blast. We did, light went off. Then it came back on again. Stayed on.
This time the diagnostics prodly declared "Fault Intake Manifold - Implausable Signal". A fantastically unhelpful answer if ever I heard one!
Leeds Audi tell us: a) replacing the parts will cost £663.84, and b) they wouldn't bother spending the money, because c) "they all do it".
Normally, we would leave it. But we'd like to sell the car and feel that an EML shining off the dashboard might put off a potential buyer somewhat. And what if there's another more serious engine management problem? How would we know?
The nearest post about this I found is this one:
http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=9964&highlight=3+drawings+attached
But as I said, it's not exactly the same code or issue.
All advice gratefully received!
Regards
Ian
