The joy of waxing - rain bubbles look arty ;)

Great beads
Whats your LSP?

Had to look that one up! ( last stage protection) I think Chris is trying to flush out the detailing world members!

I know you're not a great fan of AG products but I used to use super resin followed by extra gloss protection before I discovered tempting websites and spent silly money on Swissvax and Raceglaze.

I've not got a sealant. What would you recommend for applying over the Fusso wax and Raceglaze 65 that I have ?

Not looking to spend a fortune as my days of having a nice disposable income was swallowed up by 2 children. ;)

Hi Murdo
Generally, but not exclusively, you should not apply a sealant OVER a wax
Having said that, Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer is a perfect spray sealant that can be applied over ANY Product, waxes included

Plus I've just bought one of those snow foam thingys and it's great fun!!

Have one too, still use it it now and again despite it being useless at cleaning. To actually do anything more than loosen dirt you'd need to use some nasty commercial vehicle TFR.

Snow Foam lances are not useless with the correct product used...They are a great prewash tool
They are only meant to be a prewash cleaner and are only as good as the snow foam product that is being used
Some think they should ONLY be used to clean paintwork...This is not so.....
To gain maximum benefit from them, use Bilt Hamber Auto Foam (Best ive used) with an inch of product in the bottle and top up with water
Leave on the car for 5 minutes, pressure wash off and then use your usual 2 buckets and wash mitt with a Car shampoo
I rarely use TFR...only in exceptional circumstances, like a decontamination prior to polishing (10:1 Dilution..minimum) or as a prewash to remove Road salt in the winter

Yes agree with Chris. I have bilt hamber it's not very foamy when applied but it's a great pre wash and makes the surface feel very slick when you wash normally afterwards. Not too expensive either for a 5 litre container. This chat is giving me withdrawl symptoms from my usual weekend routine. The weather's too bad for any car related R&R.

The BH foam is the best I've used, but plenty of experience shows it doesn't really do much. Something like a citrus cleaner through a pump sprayer does pretty much the same thing with less hassle.

It doesnt do much?
I find that quite strange
Have you got your lance turned fully to (-) and an inch of product?

Yes, it's not particularly effective against winter road grime - especially so if you're trying to wash something with no wax or sealant on it. You can see a bit of dirt colouring the run-off, but it certainly isn't some miraculous and essential cleaning stage when you're going to have to do a contact wash anyway.

Best snow I've used (tried 20+) is still autobrite magifoam. Thicker and clings for a good 30 minutes easily. The longer cling means it softens up car more crud making a gentle pressure off good to remove 80%+ of the contaminant.
That in turn makes your wash much safer at not creating swirls with a 2BM of course.

1" up the standard snow foam lance with solution, then fill the rest up with warm water. Works a treat. :D

In the Winter, its even more important to use it
BH Snow Foam works better than most
AB Magifoam is no where near as effective...IMO...Its all foam and show IME
Snow Foaming ........Its only a stage in the washing process..The more dirt you can remove before touching the car is a massive advantage
