Congrats! I cannot take credit for it's mileage though - that accolade belongs to @PaulA2!

Glad Akoya is getting the usage she deserves! Have you had to do much to it @Spen other than a steering rack gaitor (I assume) ?

Hey David
no I haven't I just love keeping it clean tidy and driving it daily to work, just love it and to be honest you and Paul did everything I wanted on it anyway.
it's been really good
thanks

Hi, what's your maintenance schedule, preferable oil and have you chained the oil pump chain or not ? .
Hi absolute regular servicing oil filters etc , I have only owned this for a couple of years now , David and Paul did everything before I bought it, there was another thread on this site recently asking if anyone had doubts about buying a higher mileage A2 , I had absolutely no doubt. my previous A2 I had seen through 12 years and 130,000 miles just keeping all regular servicing sticking to everything on it and it was trouble free motoring. I did change the fuel filter and full housing on this one as all A2's i have owned have had trouble with these, this was a precaution.
I have 2 A2's and rotate the daily use so they only cover 7k per annum but I still stick to the yearly service

Hi, we have the A2 since 2003. I generally change the oil every 16-18k miles (25-30k Km) using Castrol 5W30, oil filter etc. Fuel filter sometime. Basically regular maintenance. The engine is still running without any inconvenience and I didn’t change the oil pump chain at all.

Mine is about to hit 160k so for a 19 year old car that’s low mileage too right?!

Rapidly increasing though with all these work trips to Cambridge / Maidenhead / Oxford from Devon mind.

A2 TDI 75 2002 at 230 k miles and going strong. Serviced at my local independent specialist every 10 k miles since I bought it in 2011 (at 64k) , and rewarding me with its loyalty. Driven most days for commuting and probably 2-3 trips per month in the 200-mile day trip bracket. Still original engine, gearbox (but getting difficult), clutch, engine mountings (until last month), exhaust, alternator. Negligible oil consumption. Mk 2 OSS never given any trouble. Looking to replace gearbox and clutch - posting on Wanted area of forum for the former. The longer we keep these cars, the harder it becomes to imagine being without them. Oh look, there's another one just there :) - but it has only 182 k miles to its credit. Thanks to kind folks on this forum helping me chart my future course.
