A Milestone for Miles

Not sure where to post this on the forum but today my 1.4BBY reached 200 000 miles. One owner from new since July 2002. Original engine on its fourth cambelt kit and water pumps (three changes plus the original) Original paintwork. New clutch at around 140 000 miles and serviced regularly by...

Spotted a red i today very local to me, and took a pic. Checked it quickly this evening and turns out it's on 354k miles and counting!! It looked well used inside, but quite presentable on the outside.

I know this can't go on the wall of fame as not mine, but worth a mention.

That must be running so inefficiently with the intercooler all blocked over like that! Maybe that's their way of protecting from too much enthusiasm :D
 
I'd like to apply for membership of the 200k club, after mine ticked over this evening. It ended up being running errands around Chesterfield, rather than anywhere special, but it did mean I got a photo of the dash:

The car got a wash and polish at the weekend, in anticipation of the momentus milestone, and I'm still amazed at how good it looks for a 22 year old, 200k car. It's an amazing design!

My work is relocating from 35miles from my house to 1 Mile, if that. Stroke of luck ;-) not for my diesel tho!
