The S H E car

I am not sure if it might when the system is fully empty, but in my case it did not throw any error codes due to low gas level.

Exterior today, now with brand new genuine center caps.
Wheels do a lot for the whole car appearance acccording to me.

What a difference from the sad neglected car that you first towed into your yard ... superb work, I'm enjoying following this thread ?

(I love my welding machine :))

Nice work
Are you going to drop the engine and box then un bolt when under the car and split ?

I’ve done a few clutches on the A2 both diesel and petrol and I’ve always left the engine in place but removed the front slam panel and rads to gain good access. But I’m working on a a garage floor with only trolley jack and axle stands. I.e. no car lift

It will be on the lawn so no real lift facility. I havent thought about removing the front. Hm, would involve emptying AC and coolant?

That’s all looking like hard work with little access
Much easier with the slam panel removed

Make sure you clean up a 'really' good bit of the exhaust for the earth. Don't use either the car body or the engine to earth on. Get the earth as close to the weld site as possible. These measures will help prevent damage to the electronics on the car. One of the exhaust hangers might be a good place to get your earth clamp onto. If you can't, use Mole / Vice Grips (cleaned up), and then put your earth on those.

EDIT: you beat me to it!! Excellent job

got one of those in my car, too... need to remove it before inspection. Thanks for the reminder on the mats, too - daughter asked about those yesterday. Where did you get them from? Ebay?
