The Definitive Alloy Wheel Picture thread (Alloys)

Audi TT mk1 but they are not polished from the factory as far as I’m aware.

Yes, they weren't polished but they are forged wheels that were diamond cut/ cnc machined then lacquered which gives a similar look to polished wheels.

The downside to diamond cut wheels is the lacquer has little to bond/adhere to and normally after a year or so you start to get worming where water gets under the lacquer and white bubbling occurs which leads to corrosion.

That's why most you find for sale have normally been powder coated or painted.

Lovely looking wheels though ?

Ive just opted for a set of A1 Sport wheels on 215/45 16 tyres

@ajsellors which wheels are these please?

They are the 5 spoke 16" offered on the car as an option when new from the factory as an alternative to the more common 6 spoke wheels. You can see the difference in the above picture when I borrowed the front two 5 spokes when I had my 6 spoke wheels refurbished. The size is identical and they use the same centre cap as the 6 spoke. 6Jx16 ET35 8Z0601025KZ17

The 6 spoke 16" wheels were standard on the SE model so these are quite common but these were offered as a no cost alternative for SE models and extra for all other non-sport.

16x7.5 TT wheels with 195-45-16 Bridgestone Weather Control A005 (all season) tyres.
Standard SE suspension but with a bootful of pepperpots, hence the 'stance'.

Powdercoated with original centre caps stripped of the four-rings (rotten), holes-filled and painted grey with satin lacquer plus cheap eBay nut covers.

Not for me but ..Yes I think they are very futuristic design which compliment the Audi’s design (I robot film comes to mind ) ..? maybe very aero dynamic ? If blades turned in slightly like a prop would cool the discs when driving hard ?..

Found this old add same wheels as al2cholic members car my favourite I have been looking for over a year .. interesting they had to re-drilled with correct pcd for of the A2 5 x 100 ...

They're Audi A8 winter wheels I think (not 100% on that)

There are usually a couple of sets on eBay but sometimes missing center caps or Audi symbols

Yes thanks they are I have had them on watch for best part of a year but I like the idea of re- drilling and not using converters for the different hole pitch my mate could do that on his jig borer ...they are never a cheap set .
