This IS nonsense, isn't it?

O.K., impulsively I purchased a DIS cluster ready to offer it to Tom (Timmus) as an exchange unit. When it arrived, the centre socket of the three (the DIS socket) mysteriously had some masking tape over it. I asked to return the cluster and mentioned that tape and I got this response from the seller "The dis cluster with the three plugs will work on a diesel a2 you only need the two outer plugs forget the center one" AND that's twice that he's said that, and after I'd said that it wouldn't work as a DIS cluster without the centre socket being connected. I did say that I thought that it could still be used as a STANDARD cluster without the centre plug?
He offered a £30 partial refund. That makes this DIS cluster pretty cheap ..... AND, Tom doesn't need a working cluster as a replacement, anyway.
So what he's saying IS nonsense, isn't it?

Hi David - yes, as you suspect, a cluster with just green and blue multi-pin sockets is half-dis, or a basic function system.

The full dis requires the middle grey multi-pin socket as well as the green and blue sockets.

You should also notice that the cente LCD display screen is only a half-display and not a full display, with the top half being blank.

Cheers
Jeff
