Hi!

Time to say goodbye to the best internet experience I ever had till now.
Sharing a common interest and helping each other out is quite uncommon these days.

I really hope this community never dies, and I will return to see how you are keeping this amazing site alive.

Best regards to all.
All the best for you and your A2!

Cheers,
A2day

P.S.: I will leave Audi, but will stick to VAG Group.... The Seat Altea TDI is arriving shortly! Farewell A2

Let us have a report on the Altea-I would be very interested to hear your findings (as a die-hard SEAT fan that I am!)

I will be for sure very critic on my new car, as I was regarding the A2.

I will post a detailed review after a couple of kms.

Regards to all.
A2day

(I will keep my Nickname... Now A2day stands for Altea2day!)

Hi!
Well, a slight change of plans... The Altea 1.9 that was ordered came with the 2.0 engine! :)
I could wait for a second order... or not! :)

I will receive it tomorrow... the 2.0 TDI 16v....

Full review very soon.
Keep in touch.

Cheers,
A2day

Is that the same engine as in the new Audi A3 2.0 TDi? Will be interesting to know if VW have removed the clattering noise as heard in all their PD diesel engines.

Hi Will.
Yes it is the same engine.
I've tried both and the electronic injection mapping is slightly different.
The A3 delivers power in a continuous way... the Altea on the other hand is more explosive (but a little death on low rpms).

I had a look at the Altea only because I go pass Seat garage.
I certainly would not go out of my way to look at Altea. What is it?
It`s just ordinary 5 door hatch, nothing special! EUROBOX! There are millions cars like it on the road. 15K ! you must be joking. There are far better cars for this money or less. Honda Civic, Mazda 6, Mondeo, Rav4
or the new Sportback.

I think the Altea is meant to be a mid-size MPV, using a flexible seating system. But I've no idea how flexible it actually is though. I'd agree the Mondeo is a good car for the money, but quite a bit larger I suspect. Honda Civic, another good car. Rav 4, I just hate all 4x4 cars so I'd never buy that I'm afriad. A3 Sportback, have you seen how expensive it is? Styling wise I think I'd choose it over a Focus CMax.

The Altea is pushing back the Golf in many motoring reviews. Fantastic size and that DSG gearbox, better build and refinement than the Golf, even a better drive, all for many £ks less.

You'd be mad not to.

But then for new Altea money you can have many 2nd hand cars-a nearly new Jag X type which gets good reviews, maybe a 4 year old 5 Series...the list goes on!

I understand some of your comments, but I was interested on a MPV.
Car like Mondeos are just too large for me (garage-wise I mean). [8D]

After owning an A2, my next car could only be a MPV. But since I do not use the MPV seat mobility option the Altea was the right car for me. The driving position is higher and the fact that the seat were not detachable is not an issue. For a family MPV the Ford Focus would be a better option or even the Scenic II with the 1.9 dCI engine.

Today, when I was picking up the Altea i got in a Golf 2.0 TDI. I felt absolutely wrong inside it. I was literelly sitted on the road... [13]

About the style... well.... if everyone liked the yellow color what would happen the the blue? :):(
I will not argue for tastes...

I've posted a small review on the "CARPARK" section about my first 100 miles on the Altea.

See you there!

Cheers,
A2day
