i live in a very wintery place and have found that my beloved A2 does not handle particularly well in the ice and snow. i have had trouble for a couple of years in finding winter tires for my car. that would help, but i'm also wondering if a wider tire [tyre], albeit a winter version, would be better. can we put wider tires on A2s?

When it's cold and snowy out, winter tyres work much better than summer tyres. Stick to the 175/60R15 size though, as narrower tyres work better than wider ones in winter conditions.

The German site www.sicherbestellen.de sell Continental WinterContact TS780 175/60R15 tyres at 67.20 Euros. You can fit these to the Audi A2 15" x 5.5" steel rims.
