Today I ... Went to work! The A2 performed faultlessly and overtook many 4x4 SUV vehicles which were struggling with their summer footwear on.
This is the car after 1 hour of driving this morning.

Today, or should i say Wednesday in freezing artic temperatures Mr Birchall finally let Tom (Timmus) leave Birchall headquarters to do some work for me.Lol. Because of the late start it meant we were out there from 2pm till gone 8pm. Jeez it was freezing in the horrible bitterly cold wind. Not all was done but despite the setback we still managed to fix the microswitch on the Green fsi drivers door and the big job of installing the false floor in The Cobalt dream machine with the aid of a torch. At one point i was removing the bitumouse pad where the false floor bolt holes are located and cleaning of residue with thinners. This acts like a refrigerant in the already cold conditions - 15 in the wind and at one point i thought i had frost bite! Lol. Excellent work from Tom as ever, he really is an amazing advert for the A2 and our forum.Big thanks to you Tom you deserve a medal! :)
 
Today I.......... Fitted my bright silver S3 AVus alloys with new Vredestein 215 40 17 tyres (I find these to give an improved comfort (slightly but it all helps.)

I think that those wheels really suit a black A2 and even though the car is covered in salt residue it doess seem to look nice, and the 7.5J combined with the ET makes them fill the arches nicely, IMHO.

Tomorrow I .......... Really should get the car washed!!

Looking good Steve. The vredesteins are really good tyres. I'm still using the set you fitted to the project a few years back. They are perishing before they are even half worn so goes to show that quality lasts.
 
... measured 50mpg on my depronman remapped TDI. It's been thereabouts consistently though hoping for more. Mostly shortish town driving with the occasional longer run with motorway cruising below 80. Air and fuel filters due changed and while the thermostat seems to be working (gets to 90 then stays) I'll change it along with the temp sender. Any other options for economy (I know cruise speed doesn't help though I am relatively careful not to abuse the remap)?

Pump the tyres up to max on the fuel flap.

Well today that young snapper Timmus wafted in to my man cave and installed Cruise Control, Colour DIS, a Remap, Auto locking, dipping left mirror, and blip on lock. All done very well and the remap is excellent, will be playing with the settings for the DIS over the next few days.
Overall I can thoroughly recommend Tom, and he's a "bloody nice bloke" as Harry Enfield would say ?
 
Today I.... had a visit from Timmus, did a cracking job and very pleased I am too!
Top bloke and top job done, amazing amount of A2 knowledge, you make it look too easy Tom!
