Today I.....

I assume it was the rear of the two panels that move that you broke as the very front and rear glass panels in the OSS are bonded to the frame and therefore near impossible to change them

It was the small panel by the boot, tubular spacer went astray allowing me to over tighten one of the nuts.. pulling the corner down.. lesson learnt !

OK thanks for the info I was told that they were bonded in, that is sure good to know
Here ours on the workbench (AKA the dining table) with the rear panel removed. Just a few M8 nuts and a couple of cheeky T25 countersunk screws under the foam sealing strip.

Not planning to, I’m a novice when it comes to wires

Yes Blanking plates fit over them nicely :)
The wiring is fairly simple to do. One wire from either back of switch or a pillar connector to the fog lights and then an earth from fogsvto body. You also need the fog light switch which is more of an hassle if you are wanting a good finisher switch. I bought the auto light switch from China

You lost me at the pillar connector. Unless someone has harness and a easy step by step I’ll keep them as inop cosmic mod

...fitted both our TDIs with AUX in from here...

tiny PCB with connections to plug into existing connector on our Concert CD radios. Wife now has this...

Bluetooth control switch giving OK Google access and leaving her free to legally interact with her phone. Bluetooth and AUX in total cost under £30, works very well.
Seven of the left hand pins now used by CDC 'dummy' and audio signal and ground.

I finally gave up, the pot holes have won, I have fitted a set of 15" rims in stead of the 9 spoke 17" and rubber band tyres, the transformation is remarkable, it feels like Lancashire County Council has actually mended the roads (which they appear to have given up doing)
I guess the road holding will suffer a little only time will tell

The weight saving over the 17"sport wheels is massive, I guestimate 5kg lighter, so will monitor fuel consumption
I refurbed the 15" rims in satin gun metal grey and against the Silver A2 they do look the dogs danglies

Today I was thinking of a name for my a2 which I bought recently. Ideas ? :D

I did the same 3 years ago Paul for the same reasons, had 2 tyres ruined within 2 months due to pot holes.

Pictures or it didn't happen! :p

Eventually got round to fitting replacement drop links. After a year of having drop links too short the ride quality improvement is massive!

What a mare to remove...every turn had to be earned. The "old" drop links were at mot failure stage despite only being 11 months old. Rubber completely perished I presume due to excessive compression.

Car is a pleasure to drive now and pro sport coilovers no longer in need of replacement
