Today I.....

A2 parts.jpg

Today I got an early delivery from Santa Pity he forgot his spanners :D I cant wait to see and feel the difference it's going to make.

Improvement in ride quality now I hope Paul!
Yes Scott I can report that the ride is much improved, the 55 series tyres being a little wider and a fairly soft side wall on 6.5J rims seem to ride the pot holes far better. Certainly less crashy and grip nearly as good as the 17" 205/40 but without the super hard ride
All in all a win win
Thanks for the wheels delivery service

looks to be a bit of work there my friend :)

I bought a 1.6Fsi for the Votex on it and was planning on swapping the rear axel at the same time when everything's out to get the rear disc conversion (Although not sure if it's a straight swap?) I needed a project to keep me busy ;) Cheechy aka Scott came round yesterday for a look at the Fsi and was saying you do an Aero wiper refurb service? I'll no doubt be giving you a shout to get that done at some point but her who must be obeyed would go nuts if I spend any more money on it just now :p

Yes I do quite a few of the aero wiper arm refurbs, £30 and they are at least as good as new, likely better because I use stainless steel for the pivot pins as against Audi's mild steel which rusts.
Let me know when your ready. I also do a 3D printed cover which makes it look more finished and also keeps the rain out of the pivots so will further improve longevity

As for the rear discs, think carefully about this, they are a real pain in the arse because they do so little they rust up. The breaking performance is no better then the drums and the hand brake is certainly worse - in all honesty the drum brake set up is plenty good enough an easy to maintain and provides a good hand brake
It is not a simple swap over, the hand brake cables need to be changed as does the hand brake lever assembly, the cables are a bitch to do BTW
Cheers,
Paul

I'll add it to the ever growing to do list :p Ah that's pretty much covered all the questions that I had rattling about in my head, Painted drums it'll be then

a very wise choice my friend :), worth removing any lip on the drum with an angle grinder, then you can get a really good adjustment of the shoes to the drums, this makes for a really good brake peddle feel and a great hand brake

You mean smooth down the inside face of the drum? You must be better with an angle grinder than I could ever hope to be - anything I grind tends to ADD a lip!

Not the working inside diameter of the drum just the little lip that the shoes wear in the drum

Sand Gold metallic /champagne gold . no code for colour in front of service book. Special order.?
Looks to have stood for a long while, discs very rusty.
The original owner was perhaps elderly. dings, scratches and marks on all panels.
Front bumper o/s damaged .
Bonnet damaged and scratched.
Front wing n/s damaged.
Rear bumper damaged and displaced.
Front wheel n/s badly curbed, would be lucky to refurb.
To sum up the bodywork it would need a respray to put it right.

Not serviced since 11/2015. last cambelt 2012. 10 stamps from Hull Audi.
No lights on dash, starts and runs ok, i did not test drive.

Interior very dirty , twist matrix pattern. boot cover missing.

Extras double din, 4 electric windows, DIS, option wheels.

Will make someone a stunning rare car, but will cost .
Would have bought it myself if the body wasn't resembling a dodgem car.

This info is my own opinion, please do not pass on to non members or to the garage concerned, go and look yourself and make your own mind up.
