Today I.....

Nice colour indeed... what is it?

I don't know but it looks suspiciously like our one of a kind special order final edition 80 Cabriolet which is melange.

I like it and would if i could, respray or no respray. Would be one hell of a lovely car with twist leather. Cars this low mileage are 6K plus on this forum thinking of Darren and his lovely Cobalt blue example.

Black interior would look better for me, twist and gold looks all a bit samey. Each to his own.

Sand Gold metallic /champagne gold . no code for colour in front of service book. Special order.?
Looks to have stood for a long while, discs very rusty.
The original owner was perhaps elderly. dings, scratches and marks on all panels.
Front bumper o/s damaged .
Bonnet damaged and scratched.
Front wing n/s damaged.
Rear bumper damaged and displaced.
Front wheel n/s badly curbed, would be lucky to refurb.
To sum up the bodywork it would need a respray to put it right.

Not serviced since 11/2015. last cambelt 2012. 10 stamps from Hull Audi.
No lights on dash, starts and runs ok, i did not test drive.

Interior very dirty , twist matrix pattern. boot cover missing.

Extras double din, 4 electric windows, DIS, option wheels.

Will make someone a stunning rare car, but will cost .
Would have bought it myself if the body wasn't resembling a dodgem car.

This info is my own opinion, please do not pass on to non members or to the garage concerned, go and look yourself and make your own mind up.

Thanks for the info Graham it's a shame it has too many body defects.

Still with roughly 2.5k on a complete respray would see it pristine and a complete one of within A2 circles.

For me it's a tempting worthwhile prospect being so incredibly low mileage just wish i had the spare and the space. I very much hope it gets snapped up by a forum member so we can all see it at socials.

Today I did a Jigsaw inspired mod to my car - fitted a dipstick and tube from a Polo.

Upsides:
Much easier to read the oil level.
No risk of the plastic end snapping off and mangling the crank trigger wheel.

Downsides:
Have to take the bonnet off to check the oil level.
Need to cut a hole in the noise insulation.

Simon.

Suddenly the A2 looks massive, compared to this old Mustang.

Today I did a full service including the diesel filter, what a pain that was!
It doesn’t help when you have a bad back either!

To be honest both the air and pollen filter looked like they have been in for a little while.

And yesterday I picked up car from A2Steve for £225 ( yes I owe you a fiver Steve!) For my sons 1st car.

Thanks to Robin, fitted front and rear ATE ceramic discs and pads to my A2. I also learnt a great deal, having never been confident enough to tackle brakes previously. They feel pretty good straight out of the box, once bedded in, I’m certain they will be an excellent upgrade. A big thanks to Robin.

Ooh they Definately needed doing. You may well find that the mpg goes up with a clean filter fitted.
