Today I.....

Do you park under trees? I avoid this where possible as tree sap is not good for paintwork.

Not really no, I avoid them for the reason you note. I think the green growth is a tiny moss or lichen that doesn't get fully washed out at valet and regrows. Perhaps some WD40 or similar may prevent regrowth ?

Yep, WD40 will do the trick and if you want something a bit stronger then white spirit.

On a separate note have you looked at the WD40 website on all it’s possible uses - I was amazed!

Nearly there..

Picked Vera back up from WOM today with a much lighter and new clutch installed. The low speed rattle is now gone with the addition of a new fuel line. As has been previously mentioned in another thread...... the new line has two silver metal cylindrical "silencers" whereas the old one had only one. I wonder if Audi redesigned it knowing that there may be resonating problems. ?

Big thankyou to Marcus and Rob for all the work carried out and to the guys at Stealth racing for originally diagnosing the problem some time ago.. ?

Glad to hear the new clutch is all good Dave. My Crystal Blue is going up to WOM on Saturday for the same plus a full suspension refresh, it'll be a completely different car by the time it comes out :D

Ahh so that's what it was Dave on our little test drive in Skye :)

It was Steve....it's only taken around 12 months to eventually get it sorted after trying everything else. Luckily I found the solution on the forum eventually.

A new photo at tickover synchronized with 20 past eight today? ?

Challenge accepted!

06:30 PM after my shift called my girlfriend. I'll be late I have to do 42 miles.

06:47 PM Still on road watching the cluster when will be the time.

Then I realised I living 7 miles away from my workplace. Maybe I can trick you if I just upload the photo an other day and just change the time and date on the cluster with 100k on.

So I drove home. Facing my garage what I usually don't like.. So I decided to reverse on my driveway as always.

But this time it was a bit faster than usually. Even it was sharper.

I managed to hit the brown bin.. :(

So unfortunately I'm not in the mood to do the challenge. Sorry.

But will certainly upload the picture. Maybe on 22.02.2020 at 10:22 PM (22:22)

I will post an ad soon.

Anyway this is the first little accident.

Realised I'd slightly misaligned the badge, and felt a pang of annoyance.
I know what you mean. I got the 20th Anniversary sticker on a slight slant on one car, and that was never going to straighten up ☹

Your badge doesn't look that bad to me but it's not the same when you know it's there, is it? ? If you do want to have a second go you can carefully prise it off, I've moved both of mine from one car to another. However it's not a cheap thing to do unless you already have the right items in your garage: you will have to clean off the residue of the foam tape from the car and the badge with isopropyl alcohol, and apply some more tape. Halfords car body moulding tape will be OK for a light application like this, although I have 3M 5952F because it will do so much more when I need it to.

As Ian says removal and reapplication isn’t a straightforward process per se. If it annoys you, I’d be tempted to heat the area with a hairdryer to soften the residue a bit and gently persuade the offending corner of the badge upwards slightly.

Oh good thinking Darren, a much easier solution.

Most of these foam tapes/backings have a curing period around 24 hours to reach a full strength bond, if you're going to try anything then it would be easiest if you do it ASAP tomorrow.

Look at the positive, at least it wasn’t an aluminium panel and only a rear light cluster.
