Today I.....

Yeah I appreciate that, and who begrudges giving their A2 a little attention anyway ?

Anything else I should be replacing while I’m at it?? There is a ‘looseness’ and grumbling from the steering/suspension over poor road surfaces...

Rob, I have a spare set of almost new rear springs that you are welcome to have for nothing, they are definitely not lowered though.

That’s a very kind offer that I would love to take you up on...and definitely not looking to lower the car!! I’ll PM you!

Thanks
Rob

Only took me two hours, the things you do when you are bored.

That tyre is actually off my lads A2, it blew the side wall apart last night, luckily he had just started moving when it gave up.

That was real butchery to remove a tyre like that not to mention bloody hard work

Today I ....

Replaced my wiper arm with a reconditioned unit from depronman .... and finally the annoying rattle that I thought was coming from the dashboard seems to have disappeared.

Next week a service and hopefully a replaced thermostat to start getting my Tdi back up to proper temperature (been at 60 since before last lockdown).

Really falling back in love with this car now.

Thanks also to timmus for the replacement cccu a few weeks back. Love the reassuring beep on lock.

Fixed the door crack on the drivers side, it just needed bolts, the rivets conveniently fell out so diddnt need to drill. I also just ordered oils, filters and a cam belt kit as I have a couple of days off soon but I cancelled the XBOX Id ordered that I was planning on playing with (too much screen time with the day job). Oh and Taxed it today and insured it yesterday.

Today, mine is one of only three driveways I know of in the UK that look this yellow :D @Edwrai is another.

The one at the back is WOM's courtesy car. I collected my Storm on Saturday with a ProAlloy intercooler, cast lower arms and various other fettlings having been done by Marcus, leaving my Cobalt TDI there for its injectors to be looked at.

These two might even be stablemates of old. Under the private plate, the original registration on mine differs from Rob's one only in the last letter, by just four places in the alphabet.

I think until you see a yellow one in person you don’t realise just how yellow they are. The colour doesn’t seem to show on photographs properly. It really does cheer up a gloomy day ?

Yes when clean, the road dirty takes the edge off, but that yellow paint shines up like I have never seen on another car!
