Today I.....

....gave in and paid for egr and rocker cover to be fitted on the tdi sport. Apparently the egr valve feed pipe is held with a bracket down back, hence why I couldn't move the pipe to release the egr.

Today I struggled to get my tdi 90 to start . When I bought it I took it to WOM who identified a engine management code for glowplugs . It’s been fine so far … two inches of snow and true sub zero temps mean I really NEED to change the glow plugs . Reading up / YouTube watching it seems to be best to use reamer to clean out the area where the glowplug extends into the combustion chamber (I guess ) . So I’ve matched it up as m10x1.0 but the reamer is 107mm whilst the glowplug is 97mm . I think that should be ok . Just wondered if anyone else had done this and can confirm .

I'm in no way surprised though :)
There's always a little chance of curved balls. Tires
Really do like that ramp 😍

Would love one in my garage one day if I can find a house for sale with one big enough to fit it in 😂

Car looks lovely too btw, classy and original just the way I like them👍
Same here… I love that ramp. That’s why I took the picture 😋

Today I was driving home through Chelmsford after a pretty rubbish night at work and a guy in a lovely looking black A2 waved as we passed…made me smile on a dismal Friday morning!

(Think it was the same one that parked next to me before!)

Today I went to my usually friendly parts place to get control arms as one is corroded. When I asked about cast/solid items rather than pressed items that are listed for my car he went into one…telling me I can’t fit the cast ones, they are a different size, different subframe, would be dangerous, the car isn’t designed to have them…

So…I have read the threads regarding swapping pressed for cast control arms several times and can not find the definitive answer regarding the interchangeability of pressed and cast items?!

The cast arms and pressed arms are completely interchangeable. I've got Meyle HD cast ones on my '04 Storm that had pressed arms from the factory, fitted by the legendary WOM Automotive. If they weren't compatible, WOM wouldn't have fitted them, simple as.

Cast arms are handed so each has a part number. The pressed arms are the same on both sides just flipped over and the separate ball joint bolted on the upper face. So do not worry if you see a pressed arm listed as left hand and none for right or vice versa. By the sounds of it you have pressed so just replace one now and the other as required.

Like many others have done recently I fitted my pepperpot wheels for winter.
Did notice a front wheel I removed had a load of grease on the inside so suspect a trip to the garage is in order to get it checked out

Today I got the renewal quote on my multi car policy for the two A2s.

Unfortunately Akoya’s time with me as a road car is done; I get Audrey back tomorrow and the cost to insure both cars even on one policy is prohibitive - and there was always a pecking order between the two (albeit only just, Akoya is a cracking A2 and more so since it’s time with me!).

I was going to swap those lovely leather and acantara seats with the leathers in Audrey, however I may have an alternative plan in the making now!

So I’m officially announcing that Akoya is available for sale, I will write an advert in due course.

Out of interest did you ever look into leather dyeing the swing grey seats in Audrey David. There seems to be a few places out there offering this service and it would retain the heating element. 🤔

Motor trade policy can be had for between 6-700 pound a year and you could have multiple A2's lol
