Today I.....

Drove to Euro Disney. Fully loaded with me, my wife, my nearly 4yo daughter and as much stuff as one can fit in an A2.

I’m pleased to report L’ey performed without fault (I won’t lie, I’ve pretty much all the kit to re build her and my VCDS laptop and cable in the boot in case the auto box throws a wobbly!!) and I’m very hopeful of beating my best tank range. May even do it on a single tank 😊

Thanks for sharing, Enjoy your holiday, your little girl is beautiful, reminds me of my daughter when she was 4 that was 19 years ago. :)

Today I had a lucky near miss when a small deer ran across the road. This A2 owner driving in Scotland a few days ago was not so lucky. I think it is repairable.

Made an undershield from an A2 door skin.

400 miles and still near half full implies you have got the bigger 34L tank?
Let us know which mpg you will land on at refill. A2s, but especially these 1.2TDI are indeed addictive. 🙂

This weekend, Hugo got what I'm guessing is the first interior deep clean of his life after 17 years of kids, dogs and a smoker. Several litres of filth extracted and seats back in, its a lot fresher inside now although still a bit of an odour which I think I can deal with now I know its 'clean'.

Maybe shouldn't have been top of the priority list, as I also spent some time properly inspecting underneath and have of course now added a few more jobs that need doing which appear a little more urgent (more to follow in other separate posts!). Still, the cabin is a much nicer place to be now and I made the most of the sunny weather!

Well done! That’s my “On the list” thing also. How hard is it to remove front seats?

Very simple. Basically two bolts at the front and two at the back plus removing the electrical connectors underneath the seats. There are a couple of bits of plastic trim which need to come off at the back. Be careful when doing this as they’re fragile. I’m pretty sure that there’s a you tube how to guide. It’s a half house job tops if you work systematically.

Adding to @Erlingtheyounger's sound advice above. All the bolts for the front seats need an M8 XZN (triple square) spline bit, not a Torx. Access to the front bolts is greatly enhanced if you unclip the front carpets from their studs on the aluminium floor and bend them up out of the way. Regarding the plastic covers over the rear ends of the seat runners, the inside ones simply slide off backwards, but the outside ones have a little plastic pin on the underside that you have to lever out first - a flat screwdriver under the lip does the trick. The wiring for the airbag connection would have been attached to the frame under the seat at the factory: the cable tie around the wire can usually be encouraged out of the hole it clips into rather than having to cut the cable tie.

Couldn't have written it better myself. Folding the carpet out the way definitely helps when removing the front bolts. And also take care when lifting the seats out - would be easy to scratch other bits of trim or do your back in - but otherwise less than 30 mins to strip all the seats out.

Your turn to give it a go now @H-M3

Indeed, a good point 👍 thanks for reminding me.

For that very reason, the best way out for the seats is through the boot, on their backs, with the rear seat(s) out. Before undoing the bolts, wind the seat backrest all the way up, then when you've got the rear bolts out, set the seat far enough towards the back of the runners that they don't poke out behind the frame. Then they can't scratch anything once the whole seat has been leaned backwards off its mountings. If you have the false floor, it makes an ideal ramp when folded up, to haul the seat up by the headrest from the back of the car.

Good morning A2OC! Captain Smugface here broadcasting live and direct from an otherwise-full Slough Station East car park!!

Behold the joy that uplifted my spirits this morning:

I appear to have an almost personal / reserved space right at the entrance where the ticket office is - even the latest shape fiesta would be poking out over the line (the rear bumper was 1” from the barrier).

😂

Today we have finally made the decision to go completely A2 and sell our only non A2 car. So it's had a full wash and polish ready for advertising. We are keeping the 2 little motorcycles though.🙂
Evening Mandy,

Does Martin know you’re selling his Fiat, haha.

Kind regards,

Tom
