Today I.....

Hi all, the grill and the panel surrounding the fog lights feel a bit loose. I also need to remove them to fit a couple of bits. I assume they're 2 separate parts. How can I remove them? Does the height of the ramps give enough room underneath or its only a bumper off deal? Cheers Screenshot_2022-06-22-23-09-42.png

Filled up again today. ATL 90 TDI and got 35.03 litres in after driving 490 miles, so 63.1 mpg or 4.5l/100km.
Well pleased with that maybe I dont need a 75bhp second A2 afterall!?!

MPG improved by about 4-5MPG since had battery disconnected, but may be coincidence with heatwave down here in Bristol Desert

Good man - fantastic info and in fact if the admins could make this a sticky or else insert it into Sarge’s servicing thread I think it would be a boon to others.

Using meths is a good idea due to the marked colour difference so it will be obvious once I’ve pulled the new brake fluid through from the master cylinder.

One further point - as the callipers are all new I intend to remove all bleed nipples and apply a few rounds of plumber’s PTFE tape: That will give the twin advantages of sealing against air leaks when bleeding using the syringe for more accurate visual cue that the job has been done correctly; AND guarding against corrosion and hence seizure during their working life.

Does anyone know what clear brake pipe I need - is it 6mm or 8mm?
You could use ptfe paste, easier to use, and you know where it is, not always the way with tape.
Mac.

That's my best score ever with mine as well - mostly long journeys at 65-70mph with the aircon off (although not sure if that really does much) and letting the speed wander up and down on hills 5mph or so either side of that. The weather definitely helps.

My aircon is kaput until monday so ditto. Will see what effect it has as Im an aircon lover.

The grille and foglight surrounds are clip-on items. Insert a screwdriver in the gap between the two to release the two clips for the surround, there are then two lugs which sit in apertures in the rounded ends. For the grille the clips holding it into the bumper are along the back of the top and bottom horizontal bars.

Yesterday I received two Penalty Charge Notices from the Dart Charge, an unpleasant reminder of what was a very nice Friday spent in Leighton Buzzard... That's £75 down the drain, even though I realised my mistake the following day, the ******* online paying system does not allow you to rectify it... Next time I'll take the clockwise M25 :)

That’s cheeky. I assume an email to their customer service address explaining the circumstances of your willingness to rectify the situation the following day has been tried?

I would have thought anyone living in the home counties that drives would have an account, there is no lower limit to how many times you use it and it works out cheaper.

Today I managed to change a parking sensor on an a2 parking sensor without removing the bumper, very happy with myself.

Please let us know how you did it. I still have to one on my A2, but a bit reluctant to remove the whole bumper. A lot of work for such a little repair obviously. Look forward to your reply👍

In recent days I've changed my pollen filter (I've done a thing without breaking something!) and added a bluetooth adapter - Bluetooth Freisprechen AUDI Chorus Concert Symphony Navigation Plus 1/2 RNS-D, which worked first time and works with my multi function steering wheel. Which has stopped me looking for cassettes in charity shops...

I've also added my son on to the insurance to learn to drive which has been fine apart from the obvious trouble with magnetic L plates....

Can you post a link to the BT adapter? It is also on my to do list.

I have this kit and it works well, think mines called blue music, looks all the same. Fitted to 2004 single din cd concert headunit. Plugs into cd changer bit out back and job done

@mtl the ebay listing @richonenot linked to does list Concert and Concert 2. Provided it has the socket for the multi disc changer then you will be ok. Just remember to connect the earth lead to a good earth point.

Looks who's back! The fuel cap release button, along with cabin motion sensor of course, been working intermitten for a while. During cold season it stops working, when it's hot season it works again. It took a while, but it's back again! For a couple of months now, I don't have to use the manual release to open the fuel cap, yay!
