Today I.....

Today a LUK DMF and clutch kit popped up for the TDi90 on eBay for £388 delivered so at that price I couldn't say no to having one in stock for when needed in 100k miles!

Unfortunately when I emailed them they then said they were out of stock and cancelled the order 🤯

I consoled myself by buying 7 genuine VAG charcoal and anti-bacterial cabin filters at a knock-down price. Apparently Audi never fitted a anti-bac charcoal filter to the A2 so the part number is not an A2 one - JZW819653A - but is the correct size etc. and cross-references with the correct part number.

If anyone wants one for £10 plus £3 postage you I’m happy to let a couple of them go, I’ll only keep 4 or 5

I would not recommend dual to single MF conversion. My brother put in single mass flyweel conversion for 1.9TDI in his Seat.
If I remmember correctly it was from Valeo, specific set for conversion. So not an unknown brand with bad quality parts.
The clutch did fine, but there were much more vibrations after that.

Do not know; can be the original pads for all I know. The car is 19 years and 210’km. I have driven 90’km.

I have been waiting for the brakes to wear out so have new ATE pads and rotors, TRW calipers, and SKF bearing on the shelf for 5 years hehe. Will do everything at once both sides and forget about the brakes and bearings the next 15 years.
Everything fitted and MOT (at dealership) good for another 2 years:)

I’d be interested in a filter if you have any left?

As above, I do not hear good things so I think tdi90 owners need to buy one when they see it for a good price rather than when they need it and hence the only available ones are eye-watering as our unfortunate friend @andrewparkeruk found recently.
I have the ATL with the SMF conversion and 6-speed upgrade. No troubles what so ever. What are /were the problems that are encountered? If anything I would say it is a more direct drive experience. I’m curious about your findings. Cheers D

Good to hear your experience is positive. Others have reported increased vibration at lower revs.

Well, As you would, I had replaced the clutch at the same time, but cannot find any more vibrations at lower rpm. I will try and find out if I can arrange a side by side comparison with a DMF equipped ATL. Maybe I am all the more forgiving to vibrations as I should be.

Bit of the old numb bum?

No wonder George was happy with mine :), perfect home for the ATL, although tad cold up there. Wouldn't mind an open sky one next time. Worth extra money, quite some engineering and again ahead of the curve.
