Today I.....

Today I was thankful for my recent impulse purchase of a pair of cast control arms. I had intended them for @Jeffers66's yellow Storm that I'm picking up next weekend, which has the pressed ones. However I found out that the offside balljoint on my Cobalt car had unfortunately joined the droplink on that side in making enthusiastic knocking noises  Supplying my own replacement part saved me the cost and a week's wait for a new one, and being just a bolt-on due to having the attachment with it, saved quite a lot of labour charge too. Guess I'll keep the other one as a spare since I still have two cars that might need it, and look for another pair on the Market.

Also, just come back in from adjusting the NS headlight aim upwards, having replaced that unit while the evenings were way too long to be able to see a beam pattern on a brick wall much before bedtime. I always use the local sports centre carpark for this, where it's nice and flat and the wall's at the less busy end away from the main doors. Being dark meant I could also get away with driving a mile there and back without the bonnet on, that's a first for me :D It certainly sounds throatier like that!

Today I convinced my dad to buy a A2 :)

He’s planning on buying one in May when I can start driving because then we can bring 2 A2’s to socials?

I knew he caught the A2 bug because I kept seeing him looking for A2’s and I think I’ve just pushed him over the edge to get one YAY?

I just need to convince my mum and sister now?

Long day in the saddle today with 475miles, North York Moors into Cumbria was just awesome roads, that’s killed my average mpg for that tank!

Today I carried out a throttle body alignment on my A2 at 06:30, hoping to appear familiar with the routine when I went over to do the job for another member later this morning.

You must have passed quite close to us - between Kirkby Stephen and Brough. Let me know if you're up this way again.
I did indeed from Middleton in teesdale, one of my favourite parts on the country (and I get to see a lot of it) will PM next time when I’m up in my A2. PS a little local garage between Barnard Castle and Middleton has a Silver TDI for sale if you fancy another?

I'll go and take a look at it and report back, thanks.

Today I swapped seats from one of my donor cars into "Haggis" and added bluetooth hands free to the symphony 2. Also replaced the interior lights with led bulbs.
Didn't think I would get anything done with the forecast we had, so very pleased.
Need to finish off the donor car and get it up for sale this week if the weather permits.

Just been in for the MoT - passed, only 1 minor advisory.
I'm slightly confused over the emissions level. 2 years ago it was 3.0 l/m, last year it was 2.5 l/m, and this year it was 1.5 l/m. No problem this year as the recorded level was 0.93 l/m. It's a 1.4TDI75 I should add.
