Today I.....

Today I gave up trying to clean these out, can't tell what is rust, good metal or just some kind of adhesive. Delegated the job to the electrolytic tank ;)

I'm so pleased when a crazy idea comes good. Just metal in there now so I know what I'm dealing with.

Today I had new discs, pads, callipers, drums and shoes fitted...and, maybe controversially, have painted them...
My justifications for this are as follows:
1. I am 44 and not really bothered what people think of me anymore ?
2. This is the first car I have owned where I have done anything other than ‘factory’ changes to it (my alloys are now a non Audi colour)
And 3: I like the colour!

As Paul explained that Puller is used to pres the glued drive shafts out of the bearing. I did not take any photo while using the Special Wheel Bearing puller.
The other puller looks like this:

Fitted some s3 alloys... was cheaper than having my sport ones referbed

Very pleased with them

I really like those too and have had a set previously.

They are what would have been on the S2 if Audi had ever made one

acquired a PTW box for my BHC car, allegedly reconditioned - being delivered end of the week. The 6-speed project is alive... - along with fixing the clicky driveshaft, solid suspension arms and doing the oil chain & pulleys. Would appreciate any suggestions regarding sources for the cable brackets, whether getting a new cable set is a good idea etc, starter-motor (my understanding is that the BHC / EWQ starter should still be o.k?) as I need to supply the parts top to bottom. I also need to re-read the threads.

looks smart ?

Yes based on the lovely 80 coupe.

Always really liked those and the RS2 was something else.

Obviously named well before Audi's model categorisation changed going to A2, A3, A4 etc and who knows maybe that was why an S2 version of the A2 was never done to avoid confusion or maybe it was just a case that it contradicted the original purpose and design brief of the A2 ?

I LOVE a Coupe ?
Admittedly the first didn’t get home under its own power but was eventually sorted and used daily for a couple of years and the second, black one, was bought with 41,000 miles and one owner, in March 2015 and used daily for three years...
