Today I.....

Hello,
I had the same issue with the horn not functioning after installing a 3 spoke wheel.

It was the same issue with the slim spade terminal not being connected.

Thanks for the photos you provided and @2work which helped me locate both the terminal and the post it connects to behind the metal backing ring.

Thanks,

Raymie

Undid a PO’s bodges. Rear brake shoes missing two springs, including the one that sets the self adjuster key. No wonder the park brake handle was vertical!
Fitted new shocks and rear springs. Both existing springs missing the lower half a turn of spring. New bottom mounts.
Need to replace the OS brake pipe and the two flexis but will leave that for another day.

Today Frankie had his winter wheels and tyres fitted, 16" A1 wheels,

today i got around to getting the rear interior dome light working. i assumed the bulbs had gone but they were fine.
took the housing out and the lights came on.

seems the wires and pins have to be held in a taut position not unlike a usb charging cable that needs to be bent at 90* in order to work!
this fix didnt last a long time so i followed the advice offered here by @wilco184 and hey presto, a working rear interior light!

ARGGHHH - Today the decision to drive through floodwater last week has definitely come back to bite me - I now have a noisy wheel bearing, so I assume the grease has been washed out....

Note to self - NEVER drive through flood water again.

Managed to drill out the abs sensor. Was the original one so done well 👏. All lights out so far so good!

Another job that might appear on my To Do list. 👍
Definitely get the drill ready!! I soaked it with solvents over a week and it didn't help really, been in 18 years. I drilled 4mm then wiggled and screwdriver in and out to kind of drag it up and out..

I've borrowed this pic from one of the users who's selling his A2, as I'm wondering what are these in the mold?
Mine is empty apart from the jack lift. I only recognise the tyre iron as well. I guess some kind of spanner and screwdriver?

Evening,

Not my finest work below but think I’ve pretty much answered your question:

Where the compressor should be looks to possibly an after market FAK.

Kind regards,

Tom

Thank you Tom for spending time on editing this at such late/early hour!
I've been wondering about what goes there. I've somehow actually had the compressor and sealant under the front driver seat, not in the boot, but no tools at all. I've just actually read it, it's due the subwoofer takes up the space in the boot :)
Thanks again and have a good Sunday!

There were 3 styles of tool holder fitted to the A2 depending on the year or if Bose was fitted....

This was the early type.

The later type.

If Bose was fitted the boot looks like this and the tools were located under the right front floor compartment....

Can't find a picture of the actual tool foam under the front floor.

I cant quite get a grip of what is the screw-like thing just on the left side of the compressor (in the old design picture), which also appears on the later picture on the right side of the tyre sealant?
