Chat Too Old 😭

Just tried sage and got quoted £1200 its a joke
What is going on? My renewal premium for my 75 TDi was £100 with £30 back in Nector points. That is fully comp, business users clauses, Mr and Mrs to drive.
However I want to teach my son to drive, as above but £220.

It must be the miles i do a year which is 20000

A couple of days ago I received the renewal quote from LV. The TT is about the same as last time, but the A2 has increased by about £40! That's with 20 years of NCB🤔.
So, got on to Aleksandr and Sergei, to see what I could find. Well, Aviva came up with a good quote on both cars, close to last year's LV price, maybe a little less.
Before signing on the virtual dotted line, I went on Aviva's own site, to see if it came up similar quotes. Having gone through the data entry process, for the A2, (didn't get as far as the TT), I was I formed that due to my age, they could not offer insurance.
So back to Aleksandr and Sergei, accepted the Aviva quote, and I'm good to go for another year, no mention of age.
There's no obvious logic to insurance is there?
Mac.
After a few years of insuring with them LV refused to quote on my 2005 Landrover 90 TD5, as it was “a performance vehicle”.
I’m now with Hagerty on a collectors policy, agreed value on a gaggle of A2s and the Landy for just over £520. You need to have a daily vehicle too and they don’t insure them.

The A2 and the TT are my daily vehicles 🤔
Mac.

I am coming to the conclusion that not only location, drivers age and type of use weigh on the policy price I also believe that the capability of the insurance companies repair stations ( body shops ) now weighs very heavy in the pricing. The majority of insurers would rather just write off an A2 for little to no good reason than repair an "obsolete" car. They only want to fit new panels and they are near enough impossible to source in the UK.

Agree on this one. I'm glad I run my Tesla Model 3 as a company car as the premiums on those due to availability of parts is just plain silly I'm led to believe.
