Horse was getting irritable sitting in the stable not being used, so I took it out for a ride down to South Petherton, Somerset just of the A303, about 50 miles, for lunch with my son. Nice village to walk around afterwards.

Gave the horse a breakfast of BP Ultimate before starting. Boy, didn't it want to go. It just purred along eating up the miles. On A303 traffic was light and I had to hold it back, it wanted to chase after those young ones doing 90 or 100.

Just one idiot - I was in the outside lane doing about 65 waiting my turn to overtake some slow traffic when the chap behind undertook and then cut in. The horse snarled!

Coming back decided to go cross country via Frome but took the wrong turning onto A359. A very undulating and twisty road but the new suspension gave a comfortable ride. Again, seemed to miss the traffic until the outskirts of Frome.

An enjoyable ride. Makes a change on today's roads.

PS remap and long 5th gear helps as I'm sure the warm weather did as well.
