TPS no longer allowed to deal with the public!

Just called my local and particularly helpful TPS guy, to order the bits for the A2 suspension refresh, only to be told that since last Monday they have been told they can no longer deal with the public - it's motor-trade only.

This is a massive pain in the rear for me, as I've been buying bits for my currently four-strong VAG fleet from them - they're easy to deal with and significantly cheaper than the dealer on the Isle of Wight.

Who else has found this?

I found the same a few years ago, they told me trade only, that was the TPS store indian queens nr newquay cornwall.

Unfortunately it seems to be down to the individual TPS stockist, I think officially none of them are allowed to deal with the public, it's just some choose to ignore this rule.

The local one to me is the same (Leicester) :(

I wouldn't be surprised to learn this was branch specific though time will tell. It's 6 months since I used my local branch (Glasgow East).

I wonder if you would have any joy in asking if you could set up an account, This was one thing that came out a visit to my local TPS, which was certainly not set up to deal with the public.

I popped in my local TPS yesterday, and apparently VAG are insisting that TPS only deals with trade and dealerships only deal with the public. To the extent that if you try to open an account, if you say you're trade, they'll do background checks before opening your account. b****r.

One of the real ironies of this is my nearest dealer is in Edinburgh. They really don’t want to deal with A2 parts and told me to go to TPS!
Furthermore there are no Audi dealers within 30 miles of me and Edinburgh Audi will not take parts orders over the phone even with a card payment. TPS doesn’t have this issue.

Re phone orders, I had a similar problem with credit card payments with another Audi dealer but they were OK using PayPal

Best bet is to give Crewe Audi a try as I've had no problem ordering parts from Tom - [email protected]

From my experience yesterday with dealers asking for parts for the A2. The "kid" behind the desk was looking through the Q2 parts catalogue, just shook my head and walked off. Parts ordered on line and NOT from a stealers.

I just called Helston, Cornwall TPS. No joy, don't deal with the public - sent to Truro audi dealership, ouch. online it is then.
