Tuning the petrol 1.4?

Hi everyone

After musing on buying a petrol 1.4 does anyone have experience of tuning it? I don't think this has been recently answered and I would like to know if anyone has done this and can recommend it to improve the driveability of their A2.

I've looked at chipping and gains seem to range from 5-7-10bhp. Is it worth doing? Obviously this is not a 'performance' modification but to improve driveability such as pulling away from the lights when heavily loaded or on a hill.

I don't think a remap on a 1.4 petrol will be worth it. There is a member on here from Greece I beleive who has tuned a 1.4 petrol to 130 bhp but that involved major head work.

The quickest route to 'power' with an A2 is to buy a tdi 90 and remap it to around 120-125 bhp. Plenty of power for a car that weighs less than a ton and almost a hot hatch.

Thanks - as a stock 90bhp that is preasonably quick already and up to 125bhp in such a light car would be interesting...

Hi there - even though Aub engine has been fitted instead of Aua previously how do you increase fuelling as always thought it was almost impossible to alter the map on the aua ecu sufficiently to increase the performance as without new map engine would still only produced 75 hp or am I incorrect

Cheers Dave

You'd be surprised to know the real weight of a TDI90 ! Moreover with some extra's like OpenSky, leather, climate control, Bose, 17" wheels, ...
Only a "nude" 1.4 petrol weights *maybe* just less than a ton (and the 1.2TDI/3L of course). It has an alu block. The FSI and TDI have cast iron block that are much heavier.

You just use the AUB ECU to run the car. the wiring looms are the same, as well as the pin outs on the ECU.
