Has anyone tried fitting the heated washer jets to their wiper system? Accoring to my "weights of options" post this also weighs nothing so must be something small... I can't believe the heating would be IN the washer jets? It must be a different cap to the washer bottle or somethign on its side with an element in it?

I have this on my Passat and it includes trace heating to all the water tubes as well as the nozzles, I would imagine the A2 to be the same - no point heating the nozzle if the tube is frozen solid.

Why are NEARLY all the A2s in Lichfield are silver ? ? ?

hmmm makes sense... so what you're saying is that it is possibly going te be expensive or a lot of re-tubing or something?

Not necessarily re-tubing, just lots of wires to tape to the tubes!

All in a confined space as well!

Have fun

No is what I've been told in the past, but surely if you've got enough determination and money anything is possible

While at my dealers for the first service I noticed an A2 in the showroom had new design screen washer - a 4 jet system rather than the rubbish fan spray nozzles on my car. Parts involved were the two jet bodies and the plastic moulding which clips to the base of the windscreen, the total price being under £30. While doing the conversion I checked to see if the heated washer jet wiring was in place but nothing was obvious. Price of the heated jet bodies was around £10 each compared to £1 for the unheated parts so its no big deal to change at a later date if the wiring can be sorted. What we need is a club member with heated jets to change to the new set-up and let us into the secret of the wiring.
I did the wiper conversion at the same time and the combined result is superb

I have the heated jets, and I'm thinking about switching to the new 4-jet sprays, so I'll keep you all posted if and when it happens.

I have a huge crack on my windscreen, so first step is to get a new one in, then I'll try to order the parts from Martyn at VAG.

Suffolk is more dangerous than you think...

...knowing its kind of offtopic, just read something about the new system in the german forum:

The new jets are on a higher place, enabling them to spray above the wiper.
Two members already switched to the new system and found them extremly useful. I will switch to the new system soon - when done i will post some kind of how-to-list.
