two pipe exhaust system and audi bodykit?

Has anyone altered their exhaust system after market? Being a typical male I'm partial to a twin exhaust or a pipe either side, I just think that it looks more balanced and more attractive. (just my opinion).

I've seen photos of an a2 with two singles from Zwo Styling : http://www.zwostyling.co.uk/a22.shtml - but not sure what effect this has had? Does it improve performance? Does it sound alot better? or does it just create two clouds of black smoke insted of one? - as he didn't post any comments!

The other thing is my A2 has a audi bodykit factory fitted as it was intended to be a sexy demo before I nipped in and bought it, but I never see any other a2's driving around with bodykits and nothing is mentioned in any of the brochures I've been given about them!? If I hadn't stumbled across this outside the showroom I wouldn't have even known that they existed!! Does anyone else actually own one of these, is there an extra's brochure out there with this and other things in it?? If so, what else is in this brochure? I think that the bodykit and TT wheels make a very big difference to the style!!

Any comments are welcome... picking my new a2 tdi sport up in the morning!!

(previously owned a new mini cooper, got very sick of the rattles, faults and attitude of service staff, so decided to go for a car with class and style instead!!)

Hi ya, I got my car delivered on Wednesday, a 1.4 TDI sport in Met silver with a high spec I also went for the body kit, yes you are right they do not show the kit in brochures although all the dealers have a price for it.

I may consider exhausts if I could find them, havent seen any for it.

I have the body kit you describe with teh twin exhaust, made by ProjektZwo (www.projektzwo.de) official importers for this in the UK are RSD (www.roadandsport.co.uk).

You can see pictures of my car here:

I doubt you could do this with all of the audi bodykit as it replaces parts of the front and rear valance, including the bit where the exhaust fits. You could use it along with Audi side sill only. Mine was actually done by Audi dealer.

shao khan: Thanks for the info and links!!

I'm more than happy with the audi bodykit and don't want to change it at all. No offense but I think aftermarket bodykits produced by third party companies usually look like they were an after thought, instead of the subtle effect that you get with a dealers kit. (obviously just my opinion, each to their own and all of that).

I was more interested in the exhaust system, which will mean that I will have to get the rear bumper cut for the pipes to feed through. I need to know what kind of difference these make though. As my mind is currently split in two, the first side saying "two exhausts look really good" and the second saying "A2 is not meant to be tuned and modified, it's too classy, and it is a 3 cylinder 1.4 diesel for gods sake, not a rs6!! And I'm definitely not a boy racer!!". I'd already seen your photo's but how does the two exhausts sound and perform? Does it sound bad during the winter months, and does it just chuck out a load of black smoke?

Saj: My new tdi sport is also silver (no surprises there then!), and I'm now really pleased I made the swap, however audi are a little cheap in not giving you floor mats (but that's a different conversation all together).

Mal2002: When it stops raining I'll take some photo's for you to look at, and also upload my cooper photo's for comparison.

I've had the fortune of seeing Shao Khans A2 and I can vouch that the twin exhausts look the doggies!! However, the offside pipe is only a dummy. This cuts the cost dramatically but it means that one pipe will be getting dirty while the other looks pristine. No great hardship, just an inconvenience if you like your car to look good.
Sorry if I'm stealing your thunder Shao Khan.

Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.
Was a 1.4SE petrol. http://www.audi-a2.co.uk/uk14.htm http://www.audi-a2.co.uk/safety.htm
New A2 on order - Ebony Black, Red Leather + many other options.

I didn't realise that!! Is that how it is supplied from Zwo or was that just something that shao khan did to cut the cost? Either way it sounds like a good idea, as long as it's done properly so that it's not obviously just fresh air gleaming through the dummy pipe!

How does it work with the dealer then? Do you order the part yourself and take it down for fitting when it arrives, or do audi order and fit it for you? Also, Audi obviously aren't going to come cheap, so what are we talking about in terms of a fitting cost here?

Thanks for the info Rob the fog is now lifting in front of my eyes!!

That is how the base kit comes with one dummy pipe from ProjektZwo- sound wise it also makes no difference, purely cosmetic. I have meant to look into getting a proper pipe made up, but not really had time (coupled with redundency just announced seriously limiting funds).

Like Rob mentioned it is a bit of a nuisance only one getting dirty, but I do try to clean it regularly anyway.

As for the styling, well I wanted something people would look at, and they certainly do look. I was viewing some houses the other day and the estate agent asked what I drove (we'd gone in my g/fs boxster) and I said an A2, and he said "Not that mental looking blue one i see round the isle - thats sooo awesome" this guy was mid 30's!!! To be honest I like the Audi kits they produce, but the A2 one is a bit too subtle - most people wouldnt notice, I really just wanted a run around that people would pay attention to and in that I succeeded.

Wayside Audi are very good at providing pretty much anything you want, they had this car done for their showroom to demonstrate what they were able to offer.

The whole point of the kit tho is looks, no performance (well except the H&R springs), like you said, 1.4 petrol is not ever going to be quick, but as long as it looks right. (just wish it was yellow).

I can do a direct coparison now - just collected a A2 with full Audi body kit (as a loaner until mine is fixed) and you would have to do a lot of work to make the two pipes work with this.

One thing I will say though (I'll take pictures today if I can) is that I really dont like the front of it at all, sides are ace, rear is ok and spoiler is quite nice as well, but the front doesnt look special at all (IMO).

I think I've made my mind up not to buy and fit the exhausts, as I also think looking at the bodykit it will be an absolute knightmare to do properly. It will probably end up being spoilt and there's no going back, and all for what... a single exhaust poking through my bumper and a fake pipe! A lot of cash for little return, and to be honest if anything it will probably de-value my car and make it harder to sell. Two pipes do look nice mind don't get me wrong, but my cash can be better spent elsewhere I feel!!

Everyone has their own style and tastes, and if they didn't the world would be a very boring place indeed!! Pleased you like some of it though shao_kahn, you'll be glad to have yours back though I bet.
