Tyre pump/inflator

Can someone tell me if the rectangular tyre pump supplied in A2's is a generic size in lots of audi's?

I think I have been an idiot and left mine on the side of the road when I last had a puncture so I'm looking for a replacement that will fit in the designated spot in the boot.

There are lots available for about £20 that look about the right size but I'm unsure if any of them will actually fit the spot in the A2.

The one in our 2011 Q5 is the same size just black instead of blue.

I think so, was exactly the save unit on a 2008 mini my wife have about 6 years ago

TBH just about any car manufacturers supplied tyre inflator will work but not all will store in the location on the A2. Far better to have a manufacturers inflator than a random branded one as the genuine ones are more robust.

In all cases advisable to have the car running to prevent excessive draw from the battery.

Tip. use a marker and mark the gauge with the required tyre pressures to make your life easier...

I carry a decent (albeit Chinese) one from Amazon in the boot, as in the Bose equipped cars it’s a bit of a faff pulling the ali floor panel up to get at the OE pump otherwise - and I tend to check pressures every few weeks.

I wonder if the OE one would fit in the CD changer hole in the boot floor? If it did I’d keep it there and use that instead, as I like to keep the boot under the false floor clutter-free (other than the child seat protectors and shopping bags that is.

I know exactly where you're coming from David :) But I'm sure the CD changer hole will be smaller than the compressor, sadly - although I'm prepared to be pleasantly surprised if anyone fancies trying it.

Unfortunately space behind the "frame" is used by the diversity unit.

I have not looked or tried to see if it can fit down the left side of the battery?

The diversity unit is actually screwed to the back of the frame rather than the outer box.
The Diversity unit snaps into a frame, which has four vertical fixing screws at the bottom, into the base of the compartment. The Diversity unit's cables, (6 x coax, plus 12, volt power), also enter at the bottom corner of the compartment. Re-locating it would mean re-routing those cables too. Doing so though, would be good, as where it is now can become water logged.
