I currently have the 16" 6 spoke alloys.
I am thinking of getting 18" 7.5 Alloys. Can anyone tell me if these will fit. How well do the 17's fit.
Also the fitments available are:

5-(120) & (114.3) ET 40
4- (114.3) & (100) ET 40
5-(100) & (114.3) ET 40

I am not sure what the tyre size is on the 16" wheels?

I think the tyre size for the 16's is 185 50 16.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

The 17's are standard on the Sport and the tyre size 205 40 17. They fit fine.

Can any one tell me what these numbers mean:
5-(120) & (114.3) ET 40
4- (114.3) & (100) ET 40
5-(100) & (114.3) ET 40

The first set (5-(120)) will be the number of holes and the Pitch circle diameter (diameter of the circle the holes are on. The second part (ET40) is the hub offset.

The other thing to look for is the diameter of the locating hole in the centre of the hub.

Havn't a clue what the A2 figures are.

Ok thanks, i will try to find out from my local tyre shop.
The wheels are 18" x 7.5.

Try and lookup some of the recent posts made by user 'jon.od'. He tried to get some large wheels and if I recall correctly he said that 18" had a (too) high risk of rubbing on the inside of the wheel arch. Besides, 18" over 17" didn't have that much of an impact.

So read his posts and maybe settle for some nice 17" wheels with the 'regular' 205/40 size.
5 hole 100mm pitch, if I'm not mistaken. Have to take a raincheck for the ET value. Others on the forum will know (if they care to read here ;)

Cheers,

Edo

Ok thanks,
I have just had the car checked from Tyre Shop/Halfords.
They said that 18" are risky and will be wider so will rub.
They said 17" is best bet. So i might get some of them. I heard halfords got some good packages.
Or i might get another car not sure what though.

Haha, I too keep wondering whether I should change the wheels or just get an entirely new car ;)

You're kidding right?

Well, whatever. This is your chance to fit a nice personal touch by choosing wheels that not everybody has on an A2. Like the SE 16" 6 spoke or the 17" sport 9 spoke. They're nice, but everyone has them! ;)

Cheers,

Edo
